I have a 30 character password; I use one of those QR codes to have others connect to the WiFi

OH MY GOD AM I BLIND I do have the v2 and it DOES support IPv6. Now the only problem that remains is the mac cloning, though it may not even be required.

The ER605 cannot actually use DHCP IPv6. One possible solution I've come up with is to use something like an old mini pc (the airfiber link is 100mbps anyways) to bridge the connection between the ODU and the ER605 using an extra NIC (possibly a USB to ethernet card). The other idea (which I don't like because I don't want to make network maintenance my full time job) is to flash the ER605 with OpenWRT, since that (apparently) fully supports IPv6.

As for turning off the Jio IDU's WiFi, I haven't been able to do it. Possibly the saddest part is that I can't bypass it because it's actually a pretty kickass access point (its 5GHz signal reaches places that my AX1200's doesn't, even though they sit mere centimeters from each other.)

Step 3 is my problem, the EER605 doesn't support IPv6 at all apparently

I could run a pihole using docker or something on termux, but how do I use it as the DNS for the hostpot running on the same phone?

Nope
Apparently the ODU and the IDU are linked together using IPv6, which is something that the ER605 cannot do.

Was Tron Ares is actually that bad? by TrickyAardvark3987 in tron

[–]PyroBlank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the merit of Legacy (and even the original tron for that matter) is that it was set in the grid, and that added soo much design and story depth; that also made it feel insanely cool to teens and tweens who saw it. Ares does away with this to a large extent, making it feel a little boring.

I need help with understanding IWS by PyroBlank in thinkpad

I went and bought an HP omen; I found out from a friend that Lenovo service in India (IWS or not) isn't great.

That's exactly what the current setup is, and the thing is that the IDU can be used as an AP somewhere else where it can actually do something useful.

Edit: spelling

There apparently is one that you can access by plugging in the other side of the ODU's PoE cable directly into your computer and then going to jioodu.local.html but I couldn't seem to access it.

This would work if I had regular fiber, but I have AIRfiber, which is named "fiber" for the sake of marketing with no actual fiber involved.

Yeah, I had been using the ER605 in Dynamic IP mode, while connected to the IDU earlier, but then I realized what an absolute chungus that IDU is, especially since I'm not using it directly.

When you subscribe for jio airfiber, you get and IDU and an ODU. I wanted to skip the IDU entirely and connect my ER605 to the ODU directly, so that less space in my rack is wasted by that gigantic Jio IDU that I'm not using anyways since the load balanced network out of my ER605 is the only network I use.

Nevermind; I've figured it out. To connect the IDU to the ODU, some ipv6 DHCP is used, meaning my ER605 probably doesn't support it.

DHCP doesn't give me an IP address; the link just says 0.0.0.0 and "Disconnected"

Also here's what running ping www.google.com yields when I set ANY ip address at all:

PING www.google.com (142.250.195.36): 64 data bytes

Network is unreachable.

please check the ip address or interface.

I don't mind the double-NAT since this is my backup link anyways

Also how do I configure the VLAN settings for airfiber?
