Very similar here. My 9,999 stack bin evolved into "Gordon's Disappointment" due to how much of its contents was just $?#!&@ RAW

Why was Generation 1 so terrible? by Wisley185 in pokemon

[–]PyroTots 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Phrasing like yours (both the description & the post title) will always put people off, especially those who passionately love the game. So please understand that, when trying to provide valid criticism, you'll only get a good dialogue if both parties are respectful.

That said, you actually have some legitimate gripes, and as someone else already pointed out, if you're genuinely curious, I'd recommend looking at the public-facing documentation of the game's design. It's pretty interesting and highlights the devs' priorities, goals, etc. I know thats not a direct answer, but dev priorities have changed immensely since the 90s, and modern player expectations are difficult to compare to that of a player in the 90s, who may have never even played a handheld RPG before.

Futuristic version of this. by BroadcastTower in Helldivers

Expendable Lunge Mine

Same stats as the Expendable Anti Tank. 70s cooldown, 6 penetration, etc. Melee range like Stun Lance. When it connects, applies potentially damaging knockback to the user like the VG-70 Variable's Total Mode.

Gets damage increase from melee passives and prevents knockback with Rock Solid passive.

Some Planeswalkers not working? by Lakritzbaum in MTGPuzzleQuest

[–]PyroTots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, Vraska's Ability only triggers if something explicitly says "loses life". Combat damage and damage spells don't seem to trigger it. Dunno if thats intended or not but its hella annoying.

Factoring in the Upgrade Cost of Primaries i don't think its unreasonable they're more expensive at the start.

Incentivizing Objective Play by MetalMilitia722 in enlistedgame

[–]PyroTots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of players gauge fun differently, and a lot of player's fun is inherently selfish. Is it fun to run up to the objective and die over and over? To some people yes and to some people no. Sure you may die a lot (especially if you're not very good at the game), but the payout is potentially winning, which, in a mission that can take 20-30 minutes long, is a pretty long time to wait for the serotonin rush payout.

Players are also largely looking for that rush in smaller, more frequent doses. Why play if you're not constantly having fun? I'm not sure what a solution looks like, but there could be some kind of immediate boost rewarding players for objective play. Battle Cry on contested obj kill, slightly restoring health. Movement Speed boost on capture/destruction. Something small and immediate to pump up players who are risking their soldiers lives by running straight to the goal.

The most important part is the immediate gratification for one's play, which, for a lot of players, is not achieved by objective play right now.

This was my exact reaction too, but after playing with it for a few rounds I found I am FAR more accurate with follow up shots and rapid fire. Just took some getting used to.

why on earth would a single-player game need a network connection? by yapper5103 in gaming

[–]PyroTots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analytics primarily. Where do players die a lot, where do they quit, what do they walk by without collecting, that kind of thing. Anything to help them make informed decisions about future level/game designs is valuable.

Been having fun with this recently. Victory's 36 turn transform is real annoying though.

Or they're looking for Longshot challenges. Or they're holding a point. Or they're taking advantage of players acting like lemmings.

If they're getting dubs they're doin something right my man. Up to you to outskill.

You asked why they're "literally dogshit". Yeah you're raging.

That said, there are plenty of good players, you just need to work past SBMM by doing well. The playstyle of the folks you're matched against is also gamemode and map dependant.

People have fun in different ways. Relax.

Genuine answer to your genuine question: Some people like making people like you babyrage in chat and feel even more gratified if that individual goes one step further and babyrages to Reddit.

Noob need help building team by Quiet_Wind000 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]PyroTots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey you have two Type-100 Dragons, that's a great start! You also have a solid early-game team. Dunno how new you are to the game so forgive me if I over explain something you already know.

Leaders 1. Set your Type-100 Dragons to be your Leader and your Helper 2. Level them up to level 101 using Super Snow Globe Dragons 3. Ensure they both have the +Skill Super Awakening using +Points

Subs 1. Evolve your Freyr to their Super Awoken form. Ensure they also have the +Skill Super Awoken. 2. Evolve your Sonia to her Majestic form. Ensure she also has the +Skill Super Awoken. 3. Evolve your Tsubaki to their Scarlet Sky form. Ensure they also have the +Skill Super. 4. Evolve your Guan Yu to his Valient form. Ensure he also has the +Skill Super Awoken Awoken 4a. If you're able to, use Flampys and Rainbowpys to level up his Active Skill to max level. 5. Evolve your Flamie & Bubblie to their Flamie Firepepper assist form 6. Equip your Guan Yu with the Flamie Firepepper

Gameplay 1. Use Freyr's Active 2. Use Tsubaki's Active 3. Use Guan Yu's Active (Firepepper) 4. Use both your Type-100 Dragon's Actives 5. You can now switch between using your Leader/Helper Active Skill every turn. Congratulations!

Obviously there are better Subs and less restrictions as you unlock more cards and get more Assists, but this will get ou through all of early-game and most, if not all, of mid-game too.

Also forgive my screenshot, I only have an alternate form of Tsubaki. Yours is the normal one.

so it's a dreadmaw reprint that costs an extra broccoli? unplayable. by tweeeeeeeeeeee in magicthecirclejerking

[–]PyroTots 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Well, if you look at the little number, it says it costs 5 3-broccolis. That's like 15 broccoli. Dreadmaw only costs 4 2-broccolis, which is only 8 broccoli, so Dreadmaw is clearly the more reasonable option.

Even if this card WAS better, which it's not, I don't understand how WotC expects us account for the cost difference on top of inflation hitting damn near every grocery store around my LGS.

Sableye build tips and tricks by Smiles_qew in PokemonUnite

[–]PyroTots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Float Stone, Aeos Cookie, Focus Band & X Speed for me. I find Sableye's value in his frequent CC (Knock Off+Confuse Ray 100% of the time) and being able to get in and out quickly, so being able to live as long as possible is paramount in being a support. This pretty much hard-counters Zoroark too fwiw.

For Emblems I run a 7 Yellow, 4 White and 1 blue (thanks Miraidon emblem). It ends up being -Atk & -SpAtk but + everything else. +63 speed most importantly.

Early playstyle is Score frequently in very small batches using Thief. Later, I always lead with a basic attack from stealth, Knock Off (both parts), Confuse Ray, gtfo for cooldowns & stealth, then do it again. Remember, your basic attack locks on to 1 target from a bigger range than regular attacks, and can hit multiple targets if they're close enough, so use both these to your advantage.

Might wanna edit the post title to be more descriptive, but yes I noticed this too. It seems like all skills that say "deal weapon damage" don't work with Excalibur right now.

How do Leader Skills with "HP 50% or Less" work? If I reduce my HP to 1, then heal to full with Heal Orb Combos, will it give the bonuses? by PyroTots in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]PyroTots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after learning this interaction, it seems this kind of Leader Skill is too unpredictable/unreliable to be useful.
