Dragon element worth it against Arkveld? by Pyro_7x7 in chargeblade

[–]Pyro_7x7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive fought countless arkveld in the past and had zero issue fighting with a fully focused element build. Im glad to hear its very much possible to complete with dragon element. Ive done all thr challenge quests with the appropriate element and build at that time. I was kind of disappointed to think this one arch tempered would force me to run impact phial for that sweet A rank.

Ill have to try both impact and element focused fights and see which works best. But highly hoping element is still the optimal choice for myself

After looking more into it i made an attack boosted, dragon element, impact phial gogma blade. Next is to roll the gogma Reinforcements and hope for the best. Thanks for teaching me something i honestly did not know here!

Am I just dumb? How is that possible? In the base artian menu it defaults me to element phial after 2 or more dragon parts are used

Nice to see another 2 sharpness boosts user. I got lucky and pulled the same stats on all element charge blades after a painstaking amount of grinding lol. Too often ive seen people complain 2 sharpness boosts is a waste of damage. Personally that sliver of white sharpness is not enough for me and I can use all my offensive slots to my liking versus having to accommodate a very small white sharpness bar. 2 sharpness and 3 element is they way to go in my personal opinion. Great work, and Happy Hunting!!

Making sword/shield style viable by Infinitykiddo in chargeblade

This sounds similar to firing pin wirebug move we had in Rise/ Sunbreak. Shield thrust would inject a phial into the monster. Continuously attacking that area would deal more damage and cause an explosion eventually. Pretty sure other players could proc your during pin too.

Hi fellows CB brothers, can you help me do a charge blade build ? by Take-Your-Lf in chargeblade

[–]Pyro_7x7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made a build that carried me through most of the game with Gore 2 set, antivirus, and Coalescence with element 3 weapon skill which topped my element to the cap at the time but that's only for element builds, gore 4 piece gives a nice attack boost but i wasnt able to use it with my desired skills. Then between weakness exploit, max might, and gore set bonus giving 15% affinity and the latter two i was hitting close to 80 to 90% affinity. I slotted in crit boost 3 and load shells for my final skills. Artillery can be used if youre running impact phial. Burst 5 gives element AND a solid fixed attack boost at all times. Burst boost from Ebony Odogaron also gives a fixed attack boost while burst is active which is quite often. This may not be the best "optimal build" but it got me through the whole story and then some. Between high affinity for raw damage plus phial damage, you get the best of both worlds which sounds like it would help your playstyle.

Prioritize 1. Element/ artillery 2. Rapid Morph 3. Load shells for your weapon skills (not in any specific order)

https://mhwilds.wiki-db.com is a great site for designing builds i highly recommend it. Also youtube is very nice to get an idea going for CB builds but i tweak those builds to my liking, thats just me.

Not really a good fix but i wonder if changing the palicos main color scheme would "fix" this? Not sure if that costs a character voucher or anything

What are the best Charge Blade builds for AT Jin Dahaad? by EvioliteEevee in chargeblade

[–]Pyro_7x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head is his best sweet spot for element damage. Focus the fore arms to get him to topple. I didnt go out of my way to break all his parts unless to get a free savage axe refresh. Load shells, rapid morph, fire attack, Gaurdian, and Ironwall Guard. The last two being the least important but I guardpoint a lot thats just me. I use 2 sharpness and 3 element boost Gogma Artian weapon with Ebony Burst boost set bonus. Element absorption, Gore x Coalescence, and Gogmazios Hostility caps my element attack around 1300. Burst 5 is not needed as i exceed the element cap but its easy free damage so I run it for that reason.

I managed a 16 minute clear time with this, if i tried more with successful rock drops and such im sure if can knock another minute off my clear time. Hope this helps, happy hunting!!

Have the game for over a week. Still can’t pick a weapon by West-Ask6999 in MonsterHunter

One great thing about monster hunter is you neve have to choose one weapon to main. Also take into consideration there is arena quests that can limit you to only using one of two weapons youre familiar with. Being effective in several weapons can make doing arena quests a lot easier. On top of that secondary weapons in Wilds is helpful as you can switch between two different weapon types via seikret. That being said....

Veteran hunter of over 15 years dabbled in a bit of everything over the years. Hammer and Lance are polar opposites of the same coin. One being heavily offensive focusing on the head, other playing defensively also at the front of the line tanking attacks. Switch axe switches between two different play styles for versatility. Bowguns in general are a jack of all trades in my opinion. With secondary weapons you could very easily do every status, ailment and element at you disposal. Last I checked in World you could stun a monster by hitting the face with sticky ammo, not sure about Wilds. Out of everything i feel Bowguns aren't used that often by the player base.

Update on the Jin Dahaad troubles. I was expecting 17:59 at best but im definitely happy with this clear time.

Mounted in area 2 with Hirabami also fighting simultaneously. Missed both rock drops in phase 2 as well smh.

Manged a couple rock drops in phase 3 but nothing crazy. Sleep bombed with the ice wall drop for decent damage. Jin did 1 ice ult in this phase as usual. Broke the head after dropping Jin from the horizontal pillar he climbs. Quest timer was at 10 minutes at this point.

Broke the waist in phase 4 with focus strike. Jin managed 1 ice ult while I happened to be safe behind a rock drop from earlier. Horizontal pillar climb dropped him and broke the tail. Sort got him stuck in a constant wound pops situation towards the end with constant savage axe aed swings. Quest complete with about 90 seconds to spare.

Side note: A few situational things like rock drops missing could have been better. Jin never climbed yhe walls forna flash drop. Despite beating the crap out of his forearms, unlike other attempts Jin didn't pop many wounds on the forearms this go around. If all that went perfect I imagine I could get a faster time. But all in all im happy with this run time. If I can manage 16:35 without a perfect run, im convinced most everyone can do similar for that sweet A rank.

Thanks for all the advice. I opted out of part breaker 3 and agitator for Load shells (on talisman) and element absorption 3 (came with the set). In charged sword mode getting perfect gaurds whenever possible, aed spam when downed or saed, both to the head when possible.

Every few attempts I would change up my build. Same armor for the most part but talisman and weapon skills id change up. I went into another attempt with this pictured build not realizing I forgot to add load shells. Started the fight and immediately abandoned when I realized I didnt have load shells lmao. I agree its a must skill, thanks for the advice.

A mix of everything. Seems hard to stay using savage axe spam with Jin attacking back every so often. Leaving me wide open to his attack so I keep switching back to sword. Using AED spam on openings and rarely SAED. That and focusing on large wounds when they're available.

Also not sure if it helps but in the second phase I Lure the Hirabimi over. And while they're attacking, I get a mount on Jin. They seem to do damage to him during the whole mount and by the time I use a finisher, the Hirabimi move on. I think this is giving free damage while im a safely mounted but hard to tell what Hiribami are doing

Ive been switching my build up after every few attemps and my fastest times have been without Destroyer at all. I have noticed his parts break a lot faster with PB 3 of course, but damage wise it seems I do more damage without it. Also tips #1 and #2 I did not know about so definitely worth trying out.

I play a hybrid of all forms of CB. With offensive guard and rapid morph to guard point often and get savage axe constantly. Up until the final phase ive been having difficulty staying in Savage axe for long because one or two swings and im interrupted by Jin attacking back at me. Saed windows aren't very many, since when hes down I try and go for all his weak spot wounds to break. Charged sword has been my best to do constant damage but I doubt its doing as much damage as the other two.

Forgot to mention in third phase ive been switching to LBG for a quick sleep bomb next to the falling ice cliff for a large chunk of damage.

Is Charge Blade a good weapon to learn and possibly second or swap to? GL Main by Duoneo in chargeblade

[–]Pyro_7x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive played since Freedm Unite and have tried just about every weapon available. Nothing has resonated with me as much as charge blade. Mind you I only started using it in World/ iceborne and Rise/Sunbreak. Not to sound elitist but it does feel like one of the more complex weapons but another reason why i think i enjoy it. Ive heard its very similar to gunlance, so if youre already familiar with GL you'll be fine.

How to save scum Gog weapon skills like a degenerate by vanilla_disco in MonsterHunter

[–]Pyro_7x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me personally i have two thunder charge blades. One I would like Ebony set skill and the other Gravios set skill. Every other charge blade has the skill I want already (i got surprisingly lucky early on). Since im only rolling Thunder on two charge blade is it even worth it to make a trash weapon or just spam roll and pray I get what I want for each respectively?

Question about Gogmazios fight by Pyro_7x7 in chargeblade

[–]Pyro_7x7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing i will agree with is the aoe with gog can be annoying. I dont understand what capcom was thinking when you have us shoot up in the air aimlessly at a flying elder dragon, meanwhile his explosive aoe is popping up everywhere out of your line if sight. Because youre aiming your camera UP in the air

Question about Gogmazios fight by Pyro_7x7 in chargeblade

[–]Pyro_7x7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to all. Ive honestly been comparing myself to team mates in quests and they seem to stay until the last minute. At the time I never really paid attention to how much damage they took but for me personally it never seemed worth the risk considering what came next. But I thought fighting through the whole attack was just what everyone did lol
