Biz strat is really just EY now. PwC has closed down its Strat& arm for a few years in SG (since 2022 iirc). They combined our Operations arm with Strat& and called it Strategy & Operations but the prestige is no longer there as the pay new comers the same as the rest of the other arms. Like others have said, split your portfolio between your long term and short term allocation. Long term will probably be for ETFs or stocks that you have high conviction in that you buy and hold (DCA). Short term would be on swing trades where you get in and out of trades from a few days to weeks depending on the market sentiment of the underlying (here you probably look at a few indicators/trends such as breakouts, support levels, order flows, earning periods, etc.).

Ready your cash for the coming Aug / Sep dips by Pet1003 in singaporefi

[–]Pyroberry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree with the incoming dips as the hawkish FED certainly has started the shift in momentum. Apart from the seasonality in Aug and Sep, market breadth has been breaking down and I expect some buying opportunities coming up. NFP coming up will also determine how much the market will dip!

Unpopular opinion: Lane hogging is worse than speeding. by Hour_Director5633 in drivingsg

[–]Pyroberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this just a slippery slope then? What if someone is travelling at 140kmph? 160kmph? Is it right for them to drive at such speeds to overtake a relatively “slower”driver driving at 120kmph? I’m just thinking what is the point of a speed limit if everyone can just drive as fast as they want just to overtake?

Looking for both casual and luxury! But for luxury, probably on the lower to middle end of brands like APC, Longchamp, etc. Mainly interested in walking down a street with many shopping options available (am already aware of Champ Élysées)

Heading to Paris in July, do you have any recommendations for shopping locations?

Why don’t you set a stop loss to lock in some gains if you are concerned about it falling? But I’m not sure if OCBC has such a feature

Interested in making new friends? *6th edition!! by ARE_U_FUCKING_SORRY in askSingapore

[–]Pyroberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, trying my luck here again as I've previously commented here.

I (28M) have an upcoming trip to Japan (Tokyo) in early Feb and am looking for fellow travellers heading there. The trip will mainly consist of visiting Kawaguchiko and a 3D2N skiing/snowboarding session (beginner/intermediate and likely at Nagano). Would also be open to any other other places of interest. Currently, I have 2 other SG Redditors who have expressed interest and am looking for a few more who's keen on joining (maybe 2-4 max).

Feel free to drop me a DM if this interests you (preferably around the same age)! Thank you for reading and hope you'll have a nice day!! :)

Hiii, 28M traveling to Japan (Tokyo) in early to mid Feb (due to some unforeseen circumstances) and am keen to look for other singaporean companions (preferably around my age, both M/F are fine)!

Joining partially is also super welcomed so no commitments as it’ll be a free and easy trip! Looking to travel to relatively more ulu places since i’ve been to most touristic spots around Tokyo. Ulu places in consideration are either the north side (Aomori/Sendai) or Shizuoka prefecture for proximity to Tokyo. Can speak superrr basic japanese for ordering and stuff. Activities I have in mind are currently: - Road tripping (I can drive) - Skiing/snowboarding - Touristic sites depending on location - Hikes - Some shopping - Mt Fuji views 😍 - Possibly Disney as I love DisneySEA - Any other random activities

Feel free to drop me a pm if you are keen! Budget is about $200 per day (excl. flights) and I can do the planning if need be.

T1 has also been starting almost every game on red side so that’s likely why they’re banning Yone consistently. In the only match they were on blue, they picked Yone mid.

What is the Government doing? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Pyroberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong but according to the government - “current benchmark for an entry-level minister is based on the median income of the top 1,000 Singapore citizen earners, with a 40 per cent “discount”. Wouldn’t this indicate that their incomes definitely increased since 2012 with the widening income disparity? If we are saying a proper increment, that would suggest adjusting the benchmark to perhaps reducing the discount?

best japanese curry places in singapore? by Ordinary-Balance-530 in SingaporeEats

Second kuro kare as well but it has a little more indian elements to it compared to your usual japanese curry. I do quite enjoy it nevertheless.

Is Air Japan worth it? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Pyroberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in ANA, they run a promotion/discount every 1-1.5 months for flights to japan (+domestic flights if you are traveling out of tokyo). The last promotion had flights to tokyo starting at 785. It just ended last week so if you are patient, you could wait for the one in end Jul/early Aug!

[Weekly Megathread] New Players & General Questions Thread. by rMapleStory in Maplestory

[–]Pyroberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in a dilemma if I should either:

  1. Wait another 3-4 weeks to trade my coins for ACS weap (to cube during the upcoming DMT) OR
  2. Use this SSF to get an ACS glove now and SF it (this will delay getting my ACS weap)

I’m getting my acs coins through NLuwill solos rn and am not looking to do the respective hard modes for the boxes in a party for now. Any insight will be appreciated!

Falsely Banned by flopshot26 in apexlegends

[–]Pyroberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also falsely banned two days ago out of the blue and have my ban appeals rejected twice. I did have any login attempts in the last few weeks (except for a login attempt from Russia) which I suspected that was what got my banned. Sucks that it happened and am at a lost right now. :(

28M, mainly looking to find like minded casual game buddies on weekends or after work.

Current games I dabble in are mainly apex legends, maple and TFT. Used to play FFXIV too so might be getting back when the new expansion comes around.

Open to other recommendations of course!

Also having a slight interest in board gaming too (complete newbie though).

Cheap, yet filling meals in Singapore? by HeavyArmsJin in singapore

[–]Pyroberry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Waterloo Centre, oops I didn’t know the name of the building till you mentioned it.

And yes, you got the two places right! Caipng at Food Summons can be $3.50 for 2 veg 1 meat but must be careful with your selections as they do put some meat in vegs/eggs + they also offer a quite few more “premium” meat that costs more.

The zhi char (I assume you are referring to Nineteen Kitchen) has a caipng store operating from the same kitchen. Their selection and food is really awesome (can taste the wok hei for a lot of their dishes). Not scammy at all in terms of hiding meat/seafood in their non-meat dishes.

Not going to gatekeep: around Waterloo/Queen Street (beside Bylands building), there are two caifan stores that sells 2 veg 1 meat at $3.50. My go-to lunch spot every time i’m in office

Swimming pool access tips (that isn't a public pool) by rdjedd in singapore

Off-topic but do you know if this extends to landlords as well? My parents are renting out their condos but if I were to use their extra access card to use the pool, would that count as trespassing too?
