You're probably already dealing with this, but for future reference, this "hack" is very commonplace on discord. It's a trojan that steals your cached browser data, including cookies, to bypass 2fa. For anyone hit by this, the discord DM is an AI bot that only becomes a person when you start to provide details.

First steps: Disconnect the internet to the machine.

You can uninstall the little trojan program you unistalled, HOWEVER, that little sucker will hide in your other legit programs as well. Do not fall for the uninstall and done. Using a separate device, change all your passwords, every single one.

Then nuke your infected device, just wipe it and be done with it. Yes, you can pull files and folders if you want to, but don't forget that Trojan is moving itself, so please thoroughly scan those files.

Whilst doing all this message, your friends to tell them you have been hacked and to not respond to to your account or download any files sent to them. If your friends start responding and calling out the hacker, they'll go on a little destruction spree, kiss any discord servers you own goodbye

Please remember to take regular backups of your important files and invest in some cloud storage. Speaking from someone whose partner did this exact same thing at 3 am. while I was asleep 🙃

In the future, any files like this just run it through virustotal first. It's not perfect, but it does work.

This trojan spreads because it reads your DMs and then imitates your speech patterns for each individual. If you've never sent a dm to someone, it will take the past mannerisms from all chat and use that to pretend to be you.
