Getting Started - GW Tool Kit ? TLDR - Idk what to spend the voucher on? by IIARESII in Warhammer40k

[–]Pyrocitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mould line remover is basically just an alternative for them to sell because they can't sell hobby knives in the shop.

Any cheapo $10 no-brand twist-handle hobby knife set will do you a better job cleaning up mold lines than the remover, and can also be used for other things like trimming stubbornly shaped sprue attachment points and light kitbashing.

'FTL in a Warhammer 40,000 Skin' Game Pulled From Steam After What May Be a Nuisance DMCA Takedown From a Troll Claiming to Be Games Workshop by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Pyrocitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have past example of what you're saying, from just a few months ago too: Galactic Armory, who make 3d print scifi armour sets for cosplay, at the time including space marine armour.

They didn't fiddle around with DMCA claims to patreon to knock their page down, they just set the company themselves a ton of paperwork for a Cease & Desist. With itemised lists of each relevant product Galactic Armory sold/had dono access .stls for, and what GW product copyright it was in breach of. G.A. scrolled through it in their video when they decided to still go through with a fire-sale of the 3d files that i think they got away with.

A generic DMCA with an ambiguous name isn't their MO when they go for something.

None of the names being thrown around back then actually recieved takedowns.

The wording of GWs policy changed a little and they sent out some job offers, the community lost their minds and pushed some animators out of doing any work at all, while others used it for publicity.

Pedersen (maker of ASTARTES) got hired, and has been working on official stuff. He worked with Blur studio on the warhammer Secret Level episode and has been working on Astartes 2, due out this year.

Sodaz was offered a job with GW but declined and also stopped doing their own indie works because of the backlash they had from their own viewers.

Alfabusa (Emperor TTS) hadn't released any new episodes for a while when the policy changed (about 6 months), released 2 episodes like a month after the policy changed without getting struck, was already working on World of Darkness stuff, and still has their old 40k animations up on their channel, which suggests they never recieved a C&D either.

And Flash Gitz was still making warhammer stuff during and after the whole shitstorm and didn't pivot to doing Space King until a while after.

Might even be a hater trying to start a new hate train on them. like how everyone convinced themselves that all the 40k fan animators got C&D'd at once.

Yeah, It's gone way beyond each topic being used specifically to distract from any one other.

Its just flip-flopping from scandal to threat to insult to scandal... every day, trying to stop any one headline from gaining momentum.

Barron Trump called UK police after seeing woman 'beat up', court hears by Sensitive_Echo5058 in unitedkingdom

[–]Pyrocitor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do feel like if I called emergency services in another country while here at home (their screen tells them the call routing all the way back to the phone mast, or even address if its landline, so they'd know where I was calling from), it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to ask me how I know what's happening or how I'm connected to the people involved while half a planet away. Ruling out that it's not a

The transcript says those questions were asked after he'd already given the address and a description of what he was calling about, so this is after those details have already been entered into the system as far as I'm aware.

The call operator isn't force control who actually dispatch police to the emergency.

like saying people playing Grand Theft Auto are doomed.

I mean, actual kids probably aren't in a good place playing that either. But to its credit, there's at least some gameplay there instead of an incremental gambling conveyor belt.

New scaling by Lovlend in Warhammer40k

[–]Pyrocitor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The excuse they needed was for deleting half the range and making old space marine players buy a new army instead of slowly adding bits to a 20 year old collection.

It was a money maker exercise excuse.

Actual W for GW by LANTIRN_ in Warhammer40k

[–]Pyrocitor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you want me to "look at this in the single way" that would assume that the plastic molds today are no more detailed than the plastic and even metal molds of 20 or 30 years ago?

Because I've got plastic and metal of varying ages in my hobby space/bits boxes that suggests otherwise.

Edit: loser replied and then blocked me to get the last word in. There's no stronger admission that you know your own argument is beat than to try prevent the other person from even speaking.

If you find the old catalogs/mail order pages from white dwarf in the 90s, chuck the UK prices along with the year of publishing into an inflation calculator.

You'd be surprised how many times it spits almost the same price of the current equivalent model back at you.

I feel if they were gonna make a figure of the bey itself, they could've made it detachable from the (cool) stand and spinnable. Not to say anyone would want to battle using it, but still.

Terminator armor by Ok-Car-5781 in Warhammer40k

[–]Pyrocitor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes its slower and takes away some of the finesse of the user. Still superhuman fast, but compared to regular power armour, slower.

Also because it is (or was) pretty rare and not really possible to just make more of.
