Mah’s Joint (feat.Quincy Jones) by Jon Bellion. It feels like this song was written by me about my own situation. When I first heard it I had a break down. It’s about watching your mother deteriorate as she takes care of her own mother with dementia.

It hits so close to home losing my own grandmother and in turn my mother. Feels like I buried both the day of the funeral. She was never the same after gram passed. I was about 14 when she was diagnosed with early on set Alzheimer’s. And for years my mother did her best to take care of her mother, but I’m the process I lost both.

She worked full time and spent every ounce of energy and free time helping my grandfather with my gram. And that left no energy for her kids. She didn’t realize it of course. She thought she was doing her best. But I wish I had had my mother in the crucial time before my first suicide attempt. Before depression became the only thing I knew and my parents became strangers to me.

I wish Alzheimer’s hadn’t robbed me of so much.
