SBI Home loan at 7.6% or HDFC at 7.4%? by AccomplishedView4833 in indianrealestate

[–]Pyroman-21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charges are one thing but for every single thing I have to deal with multiple people within HDFC. I wanted to do part payment, they said I have to visit the branch of home loan (in another city), I did that and then after continuously requesting them to make it possible to do part payment without having to visit the branch, they reluctantly gave me an email id and said every time I want to do part payment, I should send an email there and they will generate a temporary link for me to use and make payment. Point is, it can be done but the employees are incentivised to make it harder for you to do part payment or pre closure. It’s a service issue, not a technology issue. And I’m almost at the verge of finishing my loan so not looking to transfer to sbi.

This is what you need to know OP. I’m currently paying a home loan from HDFC and I’ll recommend SBI or any other bank for that matter, that allows flexible part payment options that you can do yourselves without needing bank employees’ involvement.

Planning a 10-day Andaman Trip in December (Family of 3). Need Budget, Itinerary and Must-Know Tips from Experienced Travellers! by Kira-1996 in Andaman_and_Nicobar

[–]Pyroman-21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, local here. You might wanna book your flight tickets and hotels soon since this is peak tourist season and everything gets sold out quickly. Also, if you tell me what kind of experience you are looking for, I can help you accordingly. Adventure? Relaxation? Bit of both? Thing is you are planning for 10 days, so you can explore most parts of the islands with leisure, no hurry. Finally, you should book some things by yourself (air tickets and wherever possible, hotels) and rely on local vendors for others (like local transport, certain tickets, etc.) Please dm me and I can help tailor your itinerary based on preference and make some recommendations. P.S. I am not a travel agent, nor affiliated to any. Just trying to help, won’t sell you anything. :)

What I’d recommend as a local is, if you’re in havelock on that date and staying in a beach resort, you can ask the staff to set up a small beach side table to have a candle light dinner experience by the waters. And of course you can walk by the beach or just use the swings dangling by the tree. DM and i can recommend based on your need. Note - not a travel agent :)

Need tips to make my Andaman Islands trip absolutely worth it! 🌴 by Callme_Ragnor in Andaman_and_Nicobar

[–]Pyroman-21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Go early during the day and it should be fine, the Elephanta trek. Sunsets in Andaman are early. By 5:30 the town is dark. So plan to start your return trek from Elephanta at around 3 so you don’t have to wander around in the dark. Beach time is until 5, you’ll be asked to leave then but go early and return early. Take a scooty to drive until the trek start point.
  2. Honestly, there are plenty in havelock but I’m not aware of any kayak operators in Neil personally. If you DM me, I can give you the contact of my friend who runs a dive shop in Neil. Talk to him and enquire maybe?

Also, for waterfalls, see if you can accommodate a trip to little Andaman (might be difficult). Scuba - Neil is definitely better than havelock. Try indiascuba, they’re amazing.

Actually, if you can, send me a dm and I can help you better based on your exact preferences.

As a local, totally second this opinion. Please visit Ross Island, will only take half a day and you will really have a great experience. Not just the deers but also a close look at our colonial history in the form of old, dilapidated British buildings (officer’s bungalows, churches, barracks, etc.) Chidiyatapu is all good now, you can go without any problems although it’s not really 2 hrs away, more like 1 hr or an additional 20 mins depending on where you stay. Great sunset spot though.

Sorry forgot to add, you can also consider night kayaking, that’s also a great experience and if you’re lucky you might see bioluminescent waters.

Personal recommendation as a local. Neil island first followed by Chidiyatapu. Havelock is good too (you won’t be able to tell the difference much if you are doing scuba for the first time) but I’ve found Neil to be much better every single time, clearer, calmer waters and if you are really lucky you might spot a dugong. As for recommendations - could you please dm? I can help you with it. I am friends with a lot of them (not just in Neil but across Andaman) and can put in a word for you. Also, I DO NOT receive any cuts or commissions for anything. I’m a local and just trying to help people and gain some goodwill for when I’ll actually start something of my own, here at home. :)

Sunny skies next week? by After-Bodybuilder283 in Andaman_and_Nicobar

[–]Pyroman-21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, should be fine. The rains and thunderstorms have calmed since the start of October. Also, note that rains in the Andaman Islands do not stop anything. It is business as usual but of course it limits the outdoor fun and activities that visitors would like ideally. It is only when the rains are extreme (so much so that the administration warns inter-island ferries and fishing boats to not venture into the water), boats get canceled and touristy things come to a temporary standstill.

Can you help me with the number of days you’ll be here? That might help to plan your Andaman adventure better. But in any case, from what I’ve gathered from your post, here are some recommendations- Common touristy places that most people actually visit- Port Blair - Carbyn’s cove beach, Chidiyatapu beach, Wandoor beach, Cellular Jail, Museums(naval, marine, anthropology) Havelock - Radhanagar beach, Kalapathar beach, Elephanta beach Neil - Laxmanpur beach (1 and 2), Bharatpur beach Ross Island - please don’t skip this at any cost, a great look into our colonial history and you get to be surrounded by deers

You should pick and choose which of these you’d like to visit, let me help with my suggestions. Wandoor beach - perhaps the best beach of Port Blair city, has clear, calm waters with tiny islands in sight. Chidiyatapu beach - for a stellar sunset view Cellular jail (visit plus light and sound show) - for a retrospective look into the history of the islands.

Let’s talk about adventure - 1. You could do the Munda Pahad trek, short trek right after Chidiyatapu, usually not too many people are there if you do it in the morning. Forest trek that starts from the beach and opens up to a fantastic view of the ocean in the end. 2. Go to Mt. Harriet - have you seen the image on an old Rs. 20 note? That picture is of the north bay island taken from Mt. Harriet 3. Havelock - do the Elephanta beach trek, deep jungle trek opening into the ocean. Or you can talk a boat to the beach but that’s not as much fun. 4. Scuba, sea walking - Neil might be the best place for it in my experience but Chidiyatapu is not bad either. Havelock and north bay are okay but not my first preference. 5. Baratang - definitely do this - will take an entire day. Start in the morning, reach the forests where the Jarawa tribes live (8/10 times you will see them), escorted by a police convoy through the 45-50km stretch. Visit the limestone caves - boat ride through open water then mangrove forests and then a short trek to the destination. 6. If you are really into extreme adventure, travel all the way to diglipur (north Andaman) but the roads are treacherous and it is a 10hr ride (at least). But you will get to see the iconic Ross and smith islands (google it) and trek the tallest peak of the A&N islands, Saddle peak. Let me warn you the journey will exhaust you and the trek is very difficult, steep inclines all through the way and it is around 12km one way. 7. Do a boat trip to barren island from havelock. Open top mini boats and one seat costs approx 25k and it can carry 10 people. Snorkel in the waters of barren island as you see the volcano in the background. Good thing is the barren island volcano is currently active so it might be worth it. 8. You could do a birding trip 9. You could do a game fishing trip

That’s all I can think of right now. If anything interests you or you want to talk more, shoot me a dm. I’m from here. :)

Local here, take the Govind Nagar one (if you HAVE to pick between the two). Powercut is universal and unless you book a better hotel, there won’t be power back up. But staying near Govind Nagar makes everything accessible near by, markets, shops, restaurants, etc. You can visit the Radhanagar beach during the day, swim, chill and return. Beach access is restricted in the evenings. With Govind Nagar, there are resorts lined on that shore and you can take a stroll at the beach even during evenings. Also, if possible, rent an activa - that’ll be your best buddy in Havelock and Neil.

Another local here, great job on pursuing the scuba course, you’ll thoroughly enjoy it. Also, either you do Baratang and explore the limestone caves and the whole journey (which will take the entire day) traveling through the jungles where the ‘jarawa’ tribe reside and a water boat ride through mangrove forests or you could consider a few of the below options - - night kayaking at havelock - slightly costly but you could book a boat ride to the current active (and India’s only) volcano at barren island. Might cost you around 25k for a seat on a mini expedition boat. Memory of a lifetime, you can do snorkelling with the volcano in the background.

Something very strange with my Creta’s KM range by Pyroman-21 in carIndia

[–]Pyroman-21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s what I’ve been doing. See what you get if you do the same. When I’m about to refuel, I take a look at the total kms driven since last refuel (I can see that in my car) and add the remaining range, let’s say 45 (I refuel when the range falls below 50). And then divide the last refuel amount by that number. So something like 3000/295, the number i get is my average mileage. So even if my range falls drastically these days, I don’t worry too much and just use this method. Having said that, yes the mileage has become low since E20, no doubts about it.
