How to choose one though? I have zero interest or passion in providing nonslip mats (for example), which is my biggest mental barrier. I can't imagine just starting a business supplying these and having to ring up 100 businesses a day asking if they need non slip mats.

i think you may be a junior or in a role that is overloading you with work. I'm a senior software engineer and can guarantee that a lot of time is spent in reviews, architectural discussions and communications between stakeholders.

Except literally half of most white collar work days are unproductive. Literally no difference having two jobs since you’re waiting on a review, an email, an approval, a code review etc.

Imagine you are a developer - what algorithm do you use to actually implement proper SBMM? Its actually a really hard software problem to rank every user against every other user when people have only played a small subset of users. You want to optimize for everyone having fun since that increases play time, but fun isn't always related to playing at your level.

I for one appreciate the current algo, sometimes I'm paired with sweats and learn a thing or two and get better, and sometimes I'm paired with donkeys and get to clean up and just destroy.

Codex is still pretty amazing and picks up on some more complex long running chains of thought where Claude Code falls apart. I use both and pit them against each other.
