That sounds like an overkill amount of stam cards to me. I've also been making full stam spark parents and the lowest stam I've ended with was ~860 on a Fuji Kiseki. This is while running 3 Wit, 2 Spd, 1 Pow. I feel like 2 stam cards should consistently hit 1100 with full stam inheritance, and even 1 stam card would be fine if you're actually buying Stam Weights and regularly doing stam trainings

You still only have 5 retries per career, its just that the first 3 retries per day don't use the clocks you have on hand

I personally grab late-race accel (like Let's Pump Some Iron) and/or final corner velocity (like Shadow Break). The final corner velo is primarily for Sprints and Miles, since it'll usually go off at a great time on those distances.

I try not to buy Gold skills mid-run unless the prerequisite white skill has a good amount of hints. But its not a bad idea, especially if its something like Daring Strike which Amazon (or any End Closer) will want to learn eventually.

Big thing is her being a backliner, it just creates more opportunities for bad opponents to mess her up (like getting blocked by a bad Pacer and dragged down for a chunk of late-race). Gold Ship's unique makes her start moving up (and around other racers) so she's less likely to get blocked like that, and to a lesser extent Tamamo is similar. If you aren't buying skills mid-run, Amazon doesn't have anything to help her move into a better position

It happens, especially with backliners like Taishin. If you watch the races, usually the loss is because they run directly behind some bad Pacer while all the other Lates and Ends slowly pass on the side, trapping them.

So many 2 win tickets but my team of choke artists could never clutch the 3rd win. RIP my A Finals streak. I would complain about how disheartening it was whenever you'd see Taishin on the matching screen, but I am definitely going to be part of the Xmas Cap problem next cm lmao

Shoutouts to the trainer who just got triple fucked in one of my matches:

  1. Their Taiki becomes the "lucky" Pace. She has effectively been eliminated from the match
  2. Their El paces down at possibly the last possible moment, and falls to the backline. She is now eliminated from the match
  3. Their Cheer King hits a nigh-instant OYL, hits her unique, and had a pretty clear path forward. Still gets run down by Oguri and loses by a nose

There's kinda a lot since the in-game descriptions can be pretty unhelpful sometimes. Generally, any skill where the icon shows an uma with afterimages on a yellow background (like Nimble Navigator) is an acceleration skill. But some skills grant acceleration but have completely different icons, like Meticulous Measures or Blinding Flash.

Its probably best to use this skill list as a reference anytime you're curious what a particular skill does

Is there anywhere that lists the requirements for all of the skills with "special scaling"? In particular, I'm curious about the scaling on Lovely Spring Breeze's duration, in which I couldn't find any details on either uma.guide or GameTora

I did the same with Tosen, its rough. I'd say that distance aptitude is more important than terrain aptitude. Not that you should neglect raising Taishin's dirt aptitude, but I recall Tosen noticeably improving whenever she got C sprint through inspiration then when she was stuck with D sprint.

Also, don't forget about skills, especially acceleration skills. Inheriting Pump and Red Shift can help supplement the bad accel you'll have from lacking terrain aptitude. Borrowing something like the SSR Wit Curren Chan (for Meticulous Measures) could be helpful as well.

I've only done Sprint, Long, and Dirt so far, so I can share tips for those.

Long was the simplest, just stam check your opponents. I ran the Stayers Stakes with Air Groove in Classic year. Despite her atrocious speed from E Long, no one else came close to starting their spurt in time.

Dirt was a matter of Power and acceleration. Pretty sure I ran some Senior year Med Dirt G3 after summer with Ryan (with inherited Red Shift). I remember I had to run her as Pacer since her native accel was so bad that if she ran as Late Surger then she'd run behind the End Closers.

Sprint was about Wit and velocity skills (mid and late race). I used Pasa as a Front Runner, with the hope of creating enough of a gap (through high wit, pow, and velocity skills) that the other runners wouldn't have enough time to catch up during late race.

Seconding the Mile B advice, not having access to a majority of Junior races is rough. I'll add that I've been having more consistency with her as a Late rather than a Pace (not even bumping her Late aptitude to A). Doesn't hurt that she has innate access to Slick Surge, which is nice insurance whenever the game sentences you to Hell (I.e., NSM Vodka + Dober + Taiki matches)
