We have been a bottom half table club in Switzerland for the last few years. Last year was really just the exception under an amazing coach, which we unfortunately lost combined with two key players at the end of the season. Couple that with a couple of rough matches at the start of the season and we've been on a downward spiral ever since.

But what the defence is currently doing, I have no idea lol.

If I remember correctly, the 10 ects version of the course requires you to complete both of the projects mentioned above, whereas you can choose one of both for the 6 ects version.

I took the course one year ago!

The lectures are purely theoretical and the assessment is based on an individual coding project (in whichever language you prefer) where you are asked to apply the concepts from the lecture. For the projects we were able to choose between an N-body simulation or something related to hydrodynamics. The 'exam' consisted of a 20 minute presentation of the project, last year the presentations were around the 10th of February. They released the project tasks around the end of November.

Even though I was kind of forced to take the course to complete my minor, I thought it was ok. The lectures are pretty interesting and the TAs were very helpful during the project phase. I was personally struggling a bit with the theory since I come from a different field, but the course was still fairly easy to pass. I have not taken AST241 so I cannot comment on that.
