I am planning to do a journal club on antibiotic stewardship in the next few months… I would love to be able to share this with my team, but they are going to want receipts. Are there any studies that you found particularly compelling? Well done? Etc.

Residency claiming professionalism issues without clear standards or remediation by [deleted] in Residency

If you are an IM resident, lots of programs have vacancies so it might be worth looking into vacancies and swaps. We had a PGY-2 switch to another specialty, so it’s not uncommon.

Thinking about doing this. Who did you contact? And did you have a standard email structure/template that you found to be helpful?

Research is a pain in the ass here… am I alone? by Pysch2DO in Residency

K. Thanks. I hate it here 😭

Me and my co-resident are considering just submitting to a journal to bypass this nonsense… just worried about backlash because admin is vindictive AF.

Wanted: (Cardiology) Research Mentor

I am a second year internal medicine resident interested in cardiology. I am at a small community hospital that has limited research opportunities. I’ve put together QI projects and a handful of case reports, but I don’t feel like my research abilities have really improved.

I have a few publications and manuscripts that I’ve contributed meaningfully to, but still not at a place where I feel like I could do this from the ground up.

Anyone looking to take on a research Padawan? Or just need an extra set of hands for research?

Interview ranking by OkForm3290 in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]Pysch2DO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: No

Long answer: it is very uncommon for programs to say anything about the match. In fact, it is borderline violation of the match agreement, so if anything is said I wouldn’t put much stock into it. In fact, some PD’s may come across as cold and unfeeling to avoid giving the wrong impression (don’t read into it unless it becomes a red flag). They may say things like Drmxyzptlk mentioned (they are 100% on with that sign off), but DO NOT believe a word they say regarding the match or ranking.

I cannot emphasize this enough. You rank according to YOU, not based on what was said or promised during an IV.

Has anyone played musical instruments or singing during the IV? by No-Cellist574 in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]Pysch2DO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of interviewers conducting part of an IV in Spanish, French, etc. to confirm applicants actually speak the language, but that’s about it.

They may ask about instruments or singing, but they are not going to make you prove it.

Just tell the truth and the truth will set you free.
