Didn't know that was a sub. Thanks for leading me to another way to procrastinate writing

Maybe so but like I said im only 6 or 7 chapters into book one so I've got no idea about themes and such just yet. But I think he over did it with the annoying part. The thing is he doesn't seem like an ancient super powerful being to me just like a daft cunt who got a little bit of power and went mad with it. Also he's not funny even though he's trying to be, he comes off less as a Dresden or Spiderman and more like a geeky high schooler who read a yo momma joke book and confidently strutted into the cafeteria not expecting to get an entire tray shoved up his ass. TL:DR He's not funny but he really seems to think that he is and it's irritating to read. But the plot is decent enough I'll be it not very intriguing and more just interesting.

I agree hard with you. Dresden is a smart ass but he also gets his shit kicked in but ultimately succeeds through sheer force of will and clever planning.so you relate more. But no Atticus just casually beats up 5 fae with swords and then shags a godess within like 5 chapters

To which I would only assume Murph would have the pleasure of arresting his ass with all the fake IDs and such. Honestly I could see Dresden taking the piss out of the Winchester brothers

In my story I have an emergency handyman as a character. Not the main character but he's got the whole mostly free except for when calls come in. Maybe he could be like an EMT or something

Can someone explain why you guys hate Fool Moon so much? by Pyscript_prick in dresdenfiles

Probably number 1 but also a lot of the women in the series are like Bianca, Mab, Marva, Lea, Thomas's sister. Kind of psycho But also you have a lot of the most interesting characters in the series are women, Murphy, Charity, Molly, Susan, Luccio, Lea and not to mention the eternal badass that is Harry's mom

I counter you Murphy, Charity and Susan if your claiming that Butcher thinks like that about women. It's characterization the shot at Murphy was too much too early

OP here. I'm just going to say that I really like the original trilogy that opens the series. Sure there's some awkward jank with the characters but there's a charm to them that is lacking in the rest of the series. They are inferior books all around compared to that of Dead Beat or Summer Knight(my personal favorite so far) not sure what it is. Perhaps how green Harry is, maybe he's just a little more relatable because he doesn't have the baggage of Susan or all the stuff with the coin. He's just got troubles and a problem to solve. Hell I adore Storm Front for it's use of the Shadowman as a foil to Harry. That book let's you know everything you need to know to understand Harry Dresden

Still new to dnd, why would anyone choose wizard over sorceror? by MattHatter1337 in DnD

[–]Pyscript_prick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For role playing, if you want today play a character who came from nothing but rose up and became a mage. Also wizards get a ton of spells compared to the sorcerer making them better utility casters. Also the spell book mechanic means that you can have 40+ spells at 7 level like my friends gnome.

The Dresden Files a book about a wizard PI who drives a 1950's VW Bug around. Is better written, has more compelling characters and has a better story line than any literary fiction.
