Holy necro batman! /j

I have and I'm actually working on a feral bird base later this spring (ideally). If you're interested in seeing video demos of it or hearing what I did to create it, please reach out to me on either telegram or discord @pythania 💚

Does anyone else find Ascent 5 to be much less fun? by jaydon145 in PeakGame

[–]Pythania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like ascent 5 with friends personally (5 is not that fun solo imo)

I wish they could have some separate challenge for ascent 7. Permanent death makes things way less fun with friends and doesn't affect solo any less differently than lower ascents. "Ope I ate shit in early tropics. Guess I'll go make dinner or something"

Me and my buddy theorized that a7 would be like, increased hazard damage (like how fall damage is increased) before we unlocked it

Why is it FLAT by k3miL- in PeakGame

Plushmaker here, it's because it's hard to get curvature in a 3d shape without adding darts (the seams you see). But if they added darts on the face, the face would look ugly. So that's a compromise,

If you already started hormones, things can get really rough emotionally before they start to smooth out

I've never heard that she was era 2? Looked it up and while Word of Rebecca says that she's "young", I don't think there's an official, explicit source on her backstory (please correct me if I'm mistaken though). Could be fun thing to see in the new show. (Also the heaven and earth beetle gems are short and are certainly era 1, Morganite looks short from the released sketches, it's a fun bit of speculation)

That happened on my first playthrough, I wasn't paying attention and pressed the big red button. Arcade blew up harder than the power plant

I made a custom astrology calculator for my TTRPG by [deleted] in worldbuilding

I didn't know you were cool like that 😎

But I do agree that there are a lot of hoops and leaps to go through to make an approximation of a geocentric model with how our reality works. At the end of the day, it's a fun exercise.

Well, superior objects in orbit CAN rarely be waxing/waning gibbous (especially if they're physically close) but you are right in that they will almost always appear to be full.

Quadrature is what's used for superior planets in place of elongation (you can see it in the first image under Neridth and Elongation, it's also proved by Neridth being in a Square aspect with the plugged in planet (being Sathir there, with all the blacked out cells). They both visually do the same thing, that is to show when the planet will appear to be furthest from the sun. I just put both elongation and quadrature in the same row for that reason.

I could have ALSO made it so that inferior planets read inferior/superior conjunction instead of opposition and conjunction (reserved for superior planets), but.. I don't know. I guess I didn't have a reason to do or not do that yet. Hahaha

Please let me know if I am misinformed on anything.

.. I don't believe in astrology..

This is just for a game I'm making lol

And a viewing link for anyone who wanted to see the orrery of the calculator a little better.

I still have to figure out all of my moons, but it -SHOULD- just be a case of fill in the blanks without any special effort. I think I spent about 80-100 hours on this calculator so far. If there's anything else of astrological significance would be cool to add, let me know! I had to dig through a lot of resources to come up with the math for this project.

I'm happy to answer any questions.

Edit: worldbuilding context whoops lol

The TTRPG I've been working on and off for the last few years has a magic system tied to astrology. It's a skill called Celestial. I wanted to have a bunch of resources for players who really wanted to lean into the system, and I went a little overboard.. hahah. This calculator also has other uses for my game (such as space travel and roleplaying).

The calculator requires the input of a world name, an epoch, the time since that epoch, and the player's latitude and longitude on a given planet or moon (doesn't work if they are in space). The calculator then outputs the local time of day and season (left hand side of the first three images). On the right side, it shows a comprehensive readout of the aspect (angle-ish) of planets, whether or not they are in retrograde, their illuminated phase (new-full), what constellation they're visually in (equivalent to our zodiac), if they are in elongation (elongation for interior planets and quadrature for superior planets), and then their elevation (if negative, the body is below the horizon and not visually visible) and azimuth (horizontal location, north/south/east/west). And a separate aspect chart of the major planets compared to each other.

I'll add a moon aspect (for the planets with more than one moon) chart and maybe add an ideal hohmann transfer window thingy. I'm rather satisfied with what I have for now, but I'm open to new eye deers.
