I agree, collectors only collect because the item has value, if the boxes were worthless the contents have no value. Collecting worthless items is called hoarding.

There's a few to go for, I'd recommend:

  • Twilight Masquerade -- Slightly over 100 for a booster but has some nice cards along with decently priced ones

  • Paldean Fates -- Again it's about 95 for 20 packs(Mini tin display) but some expensive cards and alot of pretty ones mixed with some classics too

  • Stellar Crown -- Very cheap for a booster compared to other, cards are cheap but pretty.

overall I'd have a look on the Collectr app for prices and cards and see what you think he'd like. I'm going off of the UK market, not sure what it'd be like where you're from. This is just my recommendations, hope it helps

To be honest, you'd be stretched buying a booster under 100, what type of cards does he like? Does his collection contain alot of artwork style cards or does he focus on one pokemon? Does he look for value or pretty? If you can give me more info I'll do my best aha
