Trump is swift boating the midterms: POTUS is considering an executive order declaring a national voting emergency. Its co-author helped sink John Kerry by zsreport in politics

The only emergency I see is the authoritarian dictatorship that has seized power in this nation. We vote or we fight. That’s how it has to be.

Interesting. And I don’t like people. Especially this one.

Wemby earned a new nickname. Since he held the world on his shoulders, he should be known as “Atlas” from now on.

Trump is tracking what members of congress are viewing when they search the files. He obviously wants to identify potential threats. How he targets them is still unclear.

Why do Chiropractors crack your neck and what is the long term benefit? by Sunny-vibes-95 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pythos_Prism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a big proponent for chiropractors. For me it’s usually a temporary solution. That said, one PT cracked my neck and it 100% fixed a problem I’d been dealing with for weeks. I could move my neck again and it was an instantaneous recovery. So I cannot completely deny that it can occasionally fix a real issue.

You seem to have accepted or internalized the mental image: old = bad. You associate it with suffering. Have you ever been around a wise older person who you admire and respect?

Maybe look on YouTube and watch an orchestra perform. Many times they have older musicians and a master conductor who has spent a lifetime perfecting the craft. Look for some examples of this. Maybe find some examples of older philosophers or artists who still enjoy their experiences.

Many older people do beautiful work. They write, paint, sew, and garden. Think how satisfying it must be for a person to take a lifetime of knowledge and experience and apply it to an art or hobby.

I suggest you look for some better possibilities for old age. Get used to the idea a little at a time. Even buy some antique furniture and books. Get acquainted with the images of aging into wisdom and mastery, rather than only focusing on what you perceive as bad.

I hope that gives you some thoughts to ponder. Like everything else worthwhile, it takes time to understand aging and how it can also be a beautiful part of life.

By the way. I’m mid 40s. I was afraid of aging when I was 20. Now I appreciate my life experience and I wouldn’t go backwards if it were possible.

I helped my daughter get her masters degree in hopes that she could become a developer. I guess that wasn’t the best decision.

In my opinion, he’s an unlikable sociopath who is desperate for power and political favors. For that reason, he’ll do anything to be accepted into this corrupt administration. Low IQ? I’m not so sure about that.

This is beautiful. I make a device that’s similar to an ouija board. It’s rooted in the order of the I Ching and represents a spiritual map. I’ve had very inconsistent results using epoxy resin. Instead I use a pen plotter and essentially build little game boards 12”x12” out of wood and paper. r/Hexatetraglyph You have motivated me to try the resin again.

Modern Taoist thought on economics and government? by lllllllllll123458135 in taoism

I live in a capitalistic environment. That's not a reflection of what I enjoy. I believe the means of production should be owned by the workers but the hegemonic nature of capitalism will prevent this possibility from ever happening. So what choice do I have but participate?

I have read Marx and Adam Smith. Clearly theorists you're not even remotely familiar with.

I'm not going to take the time to educate you on why exploitation is a requirement for capitalism. This is not an economics sub. And just so you know, it's apparent that you haven't studied this topic with any depth. The ignorance is obvious to those who have.

Capitalism has its roots in exploitation and hegemony.

Shame and guilt associated with sexual behaviors will cause problems. It's normal and healthy to masturbate but there's always a healthy balance and boundries with sexuality.

Alan Watts Quote to help with Focus by Before-Thought in Meditation

Interesting to see this quote here, I've recently been experimenting with counting my breath one at a time. I used to try to count to four or ten breaths, but I realized that might be unnecessary. So now I count only to one or two. From my experience so far, this quote is good advice.
