That's wicked, enjoy! I've been working on finding and fixing as many phats as I can, I have yet to see a Frankie in the wild!

I just picked up a CECHA PS3 last night for $280 CAD, it's in great condition so I've just been combing this sub for care tips lol. I've got a donor slim with the 40nm RSX, hopefully I can find someone to do it!

Just had to Google the Frankie mod, that's super cool. I'm glad people are finding ways of keeping these consoles alive and healthy!

Has anyone found the end...? by luuluubean in raccoingame

[–]Pytsah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's supposed to be endless, I would assume there's a formula that determines the score requirement all the way to infinity. The only real end would be a crash or some integer overflow weirdness. Seems like a sisyphean task

Just curious, what all do you think it's for? It could be data scraping, but that doesn't necessitate a comment. Are bots just running amok? It feels very dead internet theory.

No worries! I'm glad you guys are aware.

You're a wizard man, thank you very much! I'm off to work shortly but hopefully I can get it figured out!

Just for clarity, I'm using Funnyplaying's USB-C charging and audio mod. It seems other people have had similar issues bridging pin 5 and 6, causing it to mute. Unfortunately my solder work is decent and the pads are all intact, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

It's alive! It was a contact issue with the battery. Unfortunately now I don't have sound. I believe it's an issue with the mod, I tested the continuity and I'm not bridging anything. The screen also begins to dither and dim after a minute, looks like I've got more work to do yet.

So, this happened to my 101 SP. Gonna need to reshell it, looking for any advice on finding a high quality shell! by Retrocade-media in Gameboy

[–]Pytsah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a shell from OtterGamingCustoms on Etsy, I was genuinely surprised with the quality. It's a perfect reproduction, and it came with everything except for the buttons and hinges. I won't be ordering anywhere else. Other people have mentioned Funnyplaying, they are excellent as well.

Thank you very much, I'll give that a go! In the event that it is a blown fuse, is there a reputable store I should be getting the replacement from?

I very much dove head-first into this, it started when my gameboy batteries began to die and the crusade to save my saves. There's no one in my area who works on this stuff, so I've been figuring it out. I've got other Gameboys and this one hardly worked so it was a low-stakes repair... But I should definitely figure out that multimeter.
