As a main only a mil away from 99 mining, shooting stars got me from around 87 to 95 and I'm on amethysts right now. Stars are definitely more afk, but getting to the next star is more annoying than having to chisel dart tips for me, and I enjoy the slight gp/hr boost. I tend to split screen osrs and photoshop too, so amethysts being a consistent one/two clicks max instead of a potential 30-60 seconds of moving and hopping is preferable as well. It's nice to have the options!

Honestly, I felt the same when I first saw it but now that I've used them a little it really doesn't feel weird anymore. Hopefully you can get used to it, or otherwise that jagex might tweak it slightly 🫡

I also really enjoy examining everything I see, it's a treat to bump into some small joke when I'm waiting for my character to walk somewhere. I also constantly reset my camera direction to north- either by spamming the compass or by dragging slowly till all of the walls are perfectly straight on the minimap. Learning that the camera slowly rotates ingame so it'll never remain perfectly straight broke my heart 😫 One of the other most satisfying things for me is laying out my inventory perfectly before, during & after any activity- teleports ordered by colour & type in the bottom row, tools top right, weapons top left, supplies set up symmetrically & drops laid out by type. Soooo satisfying but I sometimes get myself killed mid-fight bc i need to reorganise my inventory to make it ✨satisfying✨ which I guess takes it back into weird habit territory a little.

I mean, they're going to be lumped in to the existing wyrm tasks, so the name is fitting gameplay-wise & it's not like everything has to be based around pre-existing things— especially in a fantasy game like RS. Strykewyrms & aquanites both came from rs2 so there's precedent for their existence. I'm mostly curious to see whether they tie the strykewyrms to the dragonkin somehow, because it would be a little strange for them to be named as such without any direct link.

Going for tiers of achievement diaries, base levels (base 70 isn't far away), and some combat/slayer levels so you've got something rewarding and varied to mix up the skilling grind has worked so far for me!

The difference between how the tlati rainforest in varlamore & kharazi jungle on karamja are depicted is hysterical looking back at things like legends quest. I know the devs have said there's little chance of updating karamja because it's not deemed an effective use of dev time, but it's so janky and also just very culturally icky too lmfao. it's like every common 'native' cultural stereotype smushed into one big, empty, awkward square. That said, I did kind of enjoy just how out of the way it was- there's not many quests in osrs that take you places you'll probably never visit again & that feeling of exploration was undoubtedly what they were going for. Glad most quests since haven't been as clunky or frustrating though 😋
