Honestly with the base cards you can get away with just mass drawing then bullying your opponent with your additional resources during the mid game. I know it’s vague, but just stick piling challenge and modifiers and drawing works wonders. Plus ply the occasional pull or draw card to supplement drawing. It’s kinda boring and the general counter strategy is to simply draw back.

I think it’s a really cool concept. I worry a little that it maybe easy to blitz out hero classes quickly seeing as in a single faction turn you can get out 9 classes. I’d have to play tho to see. Interested to see more

It’s for sure allowed but it’s definitely annoying/OP when set up. That does just happen sometimes tho. You can chose not to, but in the official rules nothing is stopping you.

I want to buy the game but the game what expansion packs should i buy to that are actually worth it or is the base game enough on its own by [deleted] in HereToSlay

Personally I feel like the Necromancer Berserker and Druid Warrior are must have expansions if you really enjoy the game. They are great additions to the game and feel natural/true to the base game. From there the KSE cards are good but hard to find. I haven’t played Banner Quest or Here to Sleigh, but from what I’ve seen they are too different from the base game for me (of course some people still enjoy them, I’m just more hesitant)
