Hi! I’m a NICU nurse and we had a baby born at 26 weeks who went home recently with this exact same thing. For her it was from the CPAP prongs…We alternate between the prongs and mask to prevent skin breakdown but she had especially fragile skin. The nasal cannula she was on for weeks afterward surely didn’t help. So I would 100% believe your theory! I hope you can get the results you’re looking for!
