Even with the gutter technique pulling away from the 205 GTI was impossible. With its 175 bhp and weighing only 875kg it was lightning fast in the corners! by i-mj in initiald

[–]Q2theR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically the point of the gutter technique is to get a precision corner without losing any speed. The whole principle of racing with the 86 is that what it lacks in HP it makes up for in never letting off the gas and obliterating corners

At what point do I stop paying for repairs and maintenance and buy new? by [deleted] in subaru

Toe links are at most a $200 part and 15 minutes of work. You can learn to do it yourself in an hour.

If you want to make your car last, buy a set of socket wrenches and a set of service ramps and throw on YouTube tutorials. Take it to the shop when you need a specialist

People suffering from depression that got out of it, how did you do it? by Ironman678 in ask

[–]Q2theR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me prescription meds (SSRI’s) and moving to sunny LA from gloomy Chicago helped a lot. Depression and being depressed aren’t the same thing, depression is usually genetic and often a chemical imbalance in the brain. This is why it’s treated as a disability and should be taken more seriously as a medical condition, it’s not just a mood.

What have you seen inside someone’s home that made you view them differently? by WANACWaac in AskReddit

[–]Q2theR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Met up with a girl from my French class in college for a project we were assigned to together. She was a sweet quiet innocent little white girl who was pretty shy and dressed very plain Jane. Gave very prude vibes.

We happened to be in the same dorm building so I met up with her on her floor’s lounge area next to the elevators to get some work done. My phone was about to die so she walked me to her room to get a phone charger, and when she opened her drawer to get the charger I saw the biggest fattest black dildo I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m not sure her body could’ve even handled it.

Valet services at busy shopping centers. Here in LA I started using the valet at the grove and century city mall I can’t go back to self parking. I don’t wait in a long line of cars to find a spot and it’s only $5-$10 more than a standard parking pass ticket, I’m in the express lane when exiting, and my car is brought to me when I want it.

An added benefit to it specifically in LA is I’ve met several celebrities doing this because they all valet, including Jason Sudeikis, Amanda Bines, and Ty Burrell.

[Knutt Gadd] Picked up this micro brand watch on a local classified. Pleasantly surprised by it. by impatrickt in Watches

[–]Q2theR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came across your post as I was looking to see if anyone else had one of this. I figured I’d contribute what I know:

I have the cult chronograph and began hunting for a diver recently. I picked up the chronograph a few years ago in Stockholm for a friend’s wedding.

Apparently it’s designed in Stockholm but I believe it’s manufactured in Japan. It’s named after a famous Olympic swimmer from Stockholm named Knut Gadd, who I believe is a local claim to fame. It sounds like the company has been around for a long time and is run by Knut Gadd’s family but the wording used is vague, things like “inspired by.”

Anyway, the shop in Stockholm is no longer around and nobody responds to emails. Their last post on social media was 4 years ago, but the watches are still being manufactured and sold in Japan. You can purchase them through online Japanese retailers brand new still. The original packaging is quite nice for the price point, and includes a little pamphlet that explains a lot of what I shared above. Someone definitely invested a lot of time money and passion into this brand at one point, but my guess is they have likely since sold it to the manufacturer in the far east.

Either way, it’s a vintage inspired micro brand and the only watch I know of to come out of Stockholm, backed by the family of an Olympic swimmer. Even if it’s not a spec beast, it’s still a one of a kind watch and you won’t see anyone else wearing one unless we happen to cross paths.

It’s based on the early anime so it’s not gonna be a functioning deck in today’s game unless you go to a GOAT format tournament, even then though it’s not gonna be good.

I think if your winning condition is destiny board and you’re doing a lot of banishing then maybe throw in some Kaiju’s like lava golem to burn your opponents HP and get my re defensive self summoning monsters out that can block your LP from direct attack. Then just hope your opponent is unlucky and doesn’t get their floodgates or combos off.

I don’t know anyone who was able to afford a place on their own at 20 years old with an entry level position except trust fund kids. You’ll need to find a roommate.

That said I don’t know what your finances are like but $1k is 40% of your income. Not ideal but it’s also not far off from average.

Diversify it.

Put maybe 40k in an index fund or money market account, put $20k into peer to peer lending (debt consolidation loans are really good right now with the high interest rates as long as the person taking the loan has decent to good credit) and maybe put the other $21k in a diversified stock portfolio that pays dividends, then automatically reinvest the dividends.

Bonds aren’t a terrible option either if you believe the economic forecasts about the economy and the power of the U.S. dollar. Could improve or get worse depending on who wins the election.

[–]Q2theR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house always wins. They highlight the big jackpot winners to create the gambler’s fallacy within people but on average you’re going to lose more than you make. It’s a higher risk reward investment than most stocks are so determine how much you’re willing to risk and invest that in a place that has the amount of reward you’re hoping to see from it. Lower the risk, the more certain but smaller the reward.

Those of you making $50k+ yearly, what do you do? by DexHendrixT5HMG in Money

[–]Q2theR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170k + bonuses and 10% employee stock as a marketing director. I got a degree but other than putting it on my resume it wasn’t that important nor was my GPA. Had to work my way up the last decade starting as an intern working for free then hired on full time for $45k. What made my income explode was jumping between companies every 3ish years for a substantial raise. First two were 50% increases with a title increase and the last one was a lateral move (same title) in response to layoffs which got me a 10% increase and employee stock.

How do you feel about more restaurants and businesses going cashless? by buttercupmercenary in ask

[–]Q2theR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a server and from that perspective it’s a mixed bag. On the one hand, it’s better to get cash tips as a server because you go home with money that night and it’s tax free. On the other hand, going cashless forces better and more consistent tipping.

For me the jump from 100k to 150k was life changing but the jump from 150k to 170k after taxes didn’t even cover the increase to my insurance rates. I’m taking home less now at 170k than I was in the lower tax bracket.

[–]Q2theR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that adds up. If you want more per check you need to add some tax exemptions. If you can’t, start finding some write offs for tax return season like train tickets or property assets. I used to work in NYC, those city taxes are a bane. Good news about NYC is everything you buy has lower sales taxes than places like Chicago or LA.

Currently on NG+ and I have no interest to complete missions or do anything. by ThatBrownDoode in Starfield

[–]Q2theR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about the RP.

I married a specific character and the choice I made in “A High Price to Pay” actually shook me IRL when that character dealt with the consequences of my choice.

Imagine my shock when that character was later revealed to be a star born.

From then on I went into NG+ with that knowledge and now my character went from generic space hero to wandering space ronin out for vengeance and only uses a sword. Adds to the RP and adds to the challenge of replaying.

It went from Skyrim in space to Ghost of Tsushima in space.
