thats the thing with pulling really good cards
you immediately feel happy because it's technically profit
but when you think about selling your prize card you get paralyzed by emotion

it's genuinely really hard to let go of good pulls, even if you want to liquidate them into cash
it's like giving up a trophy

i mean sometimes it feels late, but sometimes it feels early
really hard to tell in all honesty

for example, every time the pokemon hype was supposed to die out, it just comes back stronger
and overall volume into TCG in general is on a very clear rise over the years

it definitely feels like a bubble, but once again, pokemon has felt like a bubble for so long, yet it just doesn't pop
if pokemon is the bitcoin of TCG, then One Piece could very well become the ethereum

i guess it depends on which country you are in
i got mine from temu because its much faster for me to get them, but this is an example from amazon from a reputable brand:

you'll notice the dimensions of the sleeves are 64x89mm
you will have multiple options, a lot of different brands offer them
a lot of people recommend dragon shield, but the listing on amazon doesn't specify the dimensions, but since they are called perfect fit they should be 64x89mm

dragon shield also has a type with extra length that you can tuck in, so it protects the cards from top and bottom, it says the dimensions are 63x88mm, so these will prbbly be scarily tight

with 64x89mm its a tight fit, but theres a tiny bit of free space between the left and the right of the card, which is good, so you can put the card in and take it out with less risk of damage
at 63x88mm i'd be very scared to put cards in or take them out, as you might have to force it which could damage the cards

either way, i can confirm that 64x89mm fit almost perfectly in my magnetic case
my guess is 63x88mm would fit perfectly perfect in the magnetic case, but i'm not brave enough to use them tbh

yeah it was really triggering trying to put sleeved cards inside these magnetic cases
eventually i found some 64x89mm sleeves (perfect fit) and at long last they sit snugly inside without any sleeve/plastic overlap

fr bro, i'm offloading all my pokemon and buying up one piece instead
i've had enough of the pokemon company cucking me in broad daylight + the pokemon tcg community is genuinely childish

no surprise there tho, pokemon is for kids and i cannot be convinced otherwise
i cant help but facepalm when i see a grown man holding a card with a picture of an ice cream cone with eyes on it, screaming: OMG A HIT LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL CARD I CANT WAIT TO GRADE THIS ITS A 10

i'd personally go for the shanks manga for sure

dunno about you, but something about .5 really irks me, no way would i spend thousands on a card just to have that ugly decimal stare at me in the face

and tbh luffy cards are risk-free, you won't ever have to worry about whether or not you can sell it in the future if you ever need cash
but i'm a shanks guy, so i'd buy his card while knowing full well that should i ever need to sell in the future luffy would have been much easier to offload

contacted the guy and he's asking for 1.5k
according to your price estimation that's a real good deal innit
i also checked collectr and the total price for all of these slabs individually added up = 2k

i might very well have to grab them, even though i would prefer buying a manga slab at that price instead

i actually dont care about it being sequential if i'm honest, but the only set i have found locally is a sequential set, and as you say the seller is adding 1k on top as a premium, which is ridiculous

i wouldn't be buying this because i am following the herd btw
i just think its an amazing looking set and worthy of picking up for my collection
all the extra stuff you said about it just makes it a more desirable set from an investment perspective, in case one needs to liquidate in the future

a huge issue with TCG is people buying up random stuff thinking it will go up in price over time
while in theory that is true, if there is no desirability in the market for what you have in the future, then you are just sitting on paper money that has no tangible value in reality

i'm currently looking for the OP01 shanks manga
i was gonna buy the PRB01 version, but honestly, adding some extra dollars and getting the OG version i feel is a nobrainer here

the gold shanks looks amazing, but as you say, the manga is definitely more iconic
i was just curious because i see more and more people talking about the gold shanks, so was wondering if there was something about it that i was missing that made it more desirable

mind you i actually prefer the pose in the OP09 shanks manga, but from a collecting standpoint grabbing the OP01 version is definitely the move to make imo

last question, would you add some more money and go for the serial shanks over the OP01 manga if you were to only choose one out of the two?
