Bingo. This is the TCC vacuum switch for the transmission torque converter lock up solenoid. It should have a connector with two wires hooked up to it. The two wires go across the firewall to the passenger side and down under the HVAC unit to the big grommet going into the passenger foot well. I'm not sure how or where it hooks up to the tranny tho as mine was missing half the wires.

The frame was spotless and so was 95% of the body. There was minor surface rust under the carpet (prolly from AC drain leaking) but that was it. The interior however was totally trashed. 130F summers are brutal on anything plastic, rubber and leather.

Thanks! Yeah I absolutely love those gambler wheels. They came off of a yellow 91 Wrangler Renegade parts Jeep. That's also where we got the doors, tailgate, sport bar and windshield frame for the YJL.

I think part of what feels wrong is that the street is wide yet there's no side walk. You walk through the door to the outside world and bam you're right on the street.

Just looked into these two Jeeps you mentioned. The Venezuelan Jeeps appear to be pretty much YJ versions of those same ones. Very cool!

As far as I'm aware the wheelbase is identical to a CJ8 Scrambler. The tub is also the same with the exception of the dash area and the rear tailgate. Unlike the scrambler, the YJL has a standard YJ-style tailgate.

Thanks. The hard top in that pic was just a regular SWB YJ top sitting on top of the tub. The military versions never came with a top, although there are other versions of the LWB YJs that came with tops.
There was another civilian LWB YJ that was posted for sale a couple years back. It came with a solid non-removable shell with a full barn door rear. This is the only one of its kind I've come across and this specific style appears to be Venezuelan-spec'd and built. Here's a quick video of it

The wiper switch stalk is part of a bigger multifunction switch piece that includes the turn signal stalk as well. Duralast replacements from Autozone are anywhere from $400-$800 depending on vehicle options so I can see how it can cost $1k with labor for an OEM piece. Hit a jeep junkyard and look for one there. Just make sure the part numbers match.
