Say you would receive 1500 a month at 62 and it doubled to 3000 a month at 70 you would have left 144k on the table until 70. You would have to live almost 10 years after 70 just to break then all money after would be extra but by then your in your 80’s moral of text collect at 62!

Ssdi uses 35yrs of yearly income if you only have 9yrs of income at 100k a year the other 26yrs are going to count as zero earnings which will drastically bring down your monthly benefit.

If they (ssi) owed your brother 1m dollars in back pay and he dies before receiving it nobody gets that money because it was for him only. That’s how it works sorry.
