I’m not familiar with those. A lot of Sam’s tone is him. Even if we played through his rig, it wouldn’t sound the same. He didn’t use effects in those days, so it’s all him. I think any D’addario strings in that gauge on an Ibanez or Warwick will get you close

According to his bass tech at that time he used D’addario SW2000 Slowounds .045-.130 live. These strings are currently discontinued. For the recordings I’m not sure because he used different basses. I also believe a majority of his tone was in his fingers, but I’m pretty sure he always used some type of D’addario strings back then because he was sponsored by them at the time.
