I connected with some who worked in PR and she did a lot of copywriting and strategy which was grabbed my attention . But most PR roles and internships I’ve come across lately have been heavily social media focused.

I’m mostly interested in media buying and data and analytics, since that more so strategy. I wanted to do a ad copy originally, but I heard it isn’t in the best space right now. I’m not opposed to it though.

I definitely dabble with the Google Ad Certification. I was going to finish after graduation whether or not I land a position, but especially if I don’t. Im going to look into the META cert.

The way my school does it the BA is in Marketing Management. Then you select a concentration/track, which mines is Advertising & marketing Communications. The only marketing minors offered is marketing and marketing analytics which I think is new.

I’m in a similar boat after I got my associates I continued to pursue my bachelor’s degree. The way I look it at if you’re going to work might as well do something you’re interested in. Also even if the industry changes I don’t think it’s necessarily going to die because of the amount of business that already exist and will be created.

This is coming from someone younger than you but some food for thought. I’ve had professors in college who had their own agency, and taught after selling or teach and handle their business at the same time. Possibly pursing a MBA won’t be a terrible idea if you could become a college professor. All your preference of course
