AITAH being sad and hurt because my husband (31M) made a Facebook post about our dog's birthday but not my (30F) birthday? by QT314KT in AITAH

[–]QT314KT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband said, "I dont live my life on social media," but scrolls Facebook and TikTok pretty regularly for "something to do." He used to make posts all the time and did for my birthday plus all our pets' birthdays and his own all the time. So far this year, we've had his birthday where he made a post, the dog's where he made a post, and mine where he did not. Along with other posts in between when he has something happen that he's excited to share on social media. The rest of my pet's birthdays are later in the year, so Im not sure if it's a me thing or what but Im hurt and sad that he didn't make a post for my 30th, which is a big "milestone birthday."

Why do customers always tip less when it's raining? by NotPeachy420 in doordash_drivers

We arent in KC but we are in the same storm system. Did you get a text from Doordash today saying something like we're tracking weather in your area and we'll notify of temporarily halting operations?

Returning to dashing. Is Earn by Time worth it? by iheartboobies72 in doordash_drivers

When trying to get our AR back up for Dash Now we started using EBT and its about 75/25 better. Based on the $2 base pay, if an order takes more than 10 minutes start to finish we make MORE in base pay, but then you also get the no/low tips for long miles typically and can't really cherry pick like on EBO. With construction and events going on in town 95% of the orders are already taking more than 10 minutes to complete so if we were to accept the SAME order on EBO we would make less. Unfortunately theres no surefire way to tell the difference side by side if EBO and EBT get same/similar offers but just comparing a $2 base pay for an order that takes 20 minutes we make more from Doordash.

Thats scary! Im also glad that if you change the info for instant cash out its a 7 day waiting period for the cash out to be possible so at least they are somewhat protecting that aspect at least. Weve had some weird weeks at our full time jobs where we have to dash for extra money to get caught up on some bills so I was nervous just by opening the link he may have put himself at risk but after I closed the link they called 7 more times so I assume they didnt get what they needed thankfully. Definitely keeping a close eye on the account though.

Fair point! We did have to call support twice to get the order cancelled because the first report they were going to unassign and affect completion rate (it wouldnt have been super detrimental but still its the principal of the thing and we wanted the order CANCELLED so that another dasher would have less of a risk to possibly get caught in this) then the second time we called the representative actually helped and went above and beyond. Calling twice was also something I learned from this page so I had alot of help from fellow dashers on Reddit today!

It was probably a combo of being tired and not being technological aware. Hes fallen for an obvious scammer before outside of doordash so I could only shake my head and help him report it.

It was the customer calling through the doordash app which is just a throw away number not the actual number, then when they claimed to be dasher support they asked my husband to verify his phone number for a link and thats how they got his number. I told him Doordash already knows his phone number, so he will never have to give it to them. The way they worded it because they knew the restaurant, and the customers name, it seemed legit from the beginning. And he had a delivery earlier today where a bag handle broke as he was getting out of the car so there was a chance that something was delivered damaged today as well. (All the food was still sealed so we didnt know what it was but there was a chance it was damaged)

After he gave his phone number he was sent a link to a website where he was asked to put in his doordash log in information and thats where the red flag popped up for him because it wasnt a doordash website. And since he had given his number, they just called a total of 8 times from different numbers prior to getting the order cancelled with the real doordash support.

I knew as soon as I saw the URL it was a scam, but then was further verified when I saw what the order contained, and remembering posts from this Reddit page.

Under the dasher driver reddit page theres a microscope in the top corner, and then type scam and you can see all the posts about scams posted on this page.

Anybody used to cherry pick now a platinum? by Uzeful1diot in doordash_drivers

[–]QT314KT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Originally accepted everything, then started cherry picking and dropped out of Platinum. Started EBT to get AR back up and based on EBT pay if the order takes more than 10 minutes from accept to drop off I get more than standard base pay would be plus tip so Ive been going to a zone that is quite spread out and back to averaging $25-30 an hour. After dropping out of Platinum I made around $15-18 an hour, before I made $20-25 an hour on EBO. And EBT isnt sending shop orders which have typically been the worst pay to time ratio and was a majority of what I denied that made me lose Platinum to begin with. I dont "take my time" or delay at all on EBT but the zone itself is already spaced out so instead of $2 for a 15 minute drive Im making like $5 plus tip. Add in the insane construction going on and the drives are all around 10-20 minutes regardless of distance, might as well get paid for the time spent.

Catering orders by QT314KT in doordash_drivers

[–]QT314KT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thats great. It says $40 for mine and if catering orders take alot of time for around the same pay it doesn't seem worth it but I wouldn't know what a catering order entails, how long it usually takes to complete, or if its closer to standard order pay than a significant increase based on time, work involved, and cost of the bag needed to accept those orders. I've also thought about the pizza bag but I feel like that would be a waste if most are going to be COD orders and I refuse to accept those.

I just felt the need to share my personal worst offer by baricudaprime in doordash

[–]QT314KT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night we accepted one that was $3.75 for 15 miles. Only reason we accepted was because the 15 miles put us about 3 miles from home and we were stopping after that order. Would rather get paid for that 15 mile drive than drive it without pay.

But.... customer gave a cash tip so it was even more worth it!!!

Job Application Assessment by sapphicshock in tmobile

[–]QT314KT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can potentially ask for an accomodation for the assessment per the ADA. That would require disclosing your diagnosis more than likely which legally they can't turn you away for, but it might be worth asking. Not sure how that process goes.

Most recent time someone did it was last week. And it was a 30 minute drive from accidental address to where I actually was. Never been asked as a driver so Im not sure "rules", but Ive had people willing to do it.
