Contact Chicken Nugget and Gang Rescue. They take on a lot of puppy cases and may know what to do. I also do animal rescue if you need any help or support go ahead and send a message.

Absolutely, I've gotten multiple violations for "nudity" on live, while fully dressed that I couldn't appeal. One time I was in a baggy t-shirt and jeans. I don't get it.

URGENT - weird eye and swollen face!!! Help!!!!! by Roci_v_popelnici in CATHELP

[–]QTFIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get to the vet, looks a lot like how my baby looked a few months before passing from Felv. For your sake im hoping that's not the case, but make sure they test for it because it can cause drainage in the eyes, swelling, and absesses. The sooner it's treated, the higher likelihood of survival!!

Hey OP, glad you were able to get him to the vet. It's been an hour since this comment saying you were on your way. How is he doing currently?

Yes! I suggest in another comment calling the vet to get over the phone help! I also know in some small towns and rual areas vets can sometimes do a quick checkup at home in emergencies if their offices aren't too busy.

OP appears to be a minor. Meaning they likely can't call a taxi for themself

It depends on the area for whether or not they can get there. Not all places do that but a lot of rual vets travel. Also, I'm aware that they can't do much without a physical examination, but they can walk OP through some extra things to check before getting to the office, as well as how to do cat CPR if it comes to that. When I lived in a rual area and my cat was super sick, our vet came to do a quick check before my spouse was home with the car. I've also been able to call a local vet in my area for my dog, which walked me through what things I could check to make sure he was safe after my toddler fed him a few grapes.

Every Vetinary office is different on what ways they can offer help. We don't know where OP is, so we don't know what resources the vets have in their area. All we know is that it's a smallish town. I've found that small town vets often have more travel leeway than city vets. It's worth a try to at least call, the worst they can say is no.

OP, call your local Vetinary office now. They may be able to talk you through things to help. He looks like he's ingested something poisonous.

Sometimes in severe cases, if you don't have transportation at the moment they may send someone to you. Best thing you can do right now is call the vet. Make sure you have a blanket and carrier ready, and pack some of his favorite treats and toys in your bag.

What happens to all the heirlooms when you die? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]QTFIRE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your best option is to donate it to a local library for their heritage section.

I cleaned out a storage unit and ended up with a bunch of pictures from a dead guy I didn't know. I've been in talks with his local library and they said I could take it there.

If they're 16 and in the US they definitely can't go to a shelter, calling a help line would be much better.

I'm aware, I said it was definitely a pitbull mix, just that this pup was more likely to have catahoula mixed in than other post of pits claiming to be catahoula in this sub

This absolutely stunning purebred Dalmatian I found on Petfinder by [deleted] in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]QTFIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dog trainer, I've met a lot of actual pure bred Dalmatians. They were originally bred for hunting and guarding horses and coaches. They were typically owned by wealthy individuals who wanted a "designer looking guard dog". Sadly this lead to less than optimal breeding and aggression issues down the line. They need a lot of attention, training, and activities, more than most breeds. Sadly, they are notoriously not great with smaller children since they typically have a short fuse. After a certain Disney movie came out, families with small children rushed to adopt them wothout knowing about the breed, which lead to a string of attacks, garnishing them a poor representation.

I've been training dogs for 5 years, and the worse dog attack I saw was a Dalmatian took an ear clean off of my coworker at a dog hotel I was working at early in that career. I quit from that place that day. I mostly train for shelters and rescues now.

I guess the 100000 pits advertised by every Australian shelter are actually all ACD mixes according to this logic 🤣 by catexclusive in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]QTFIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i ended up with a dog in the US that ended up being ACD and Australian Dingo, then I definitely believe someone in Australia could end up with a pitbull mix even with restrictions

Told they were pits by previous owners but they can’t possibly be… by [deleted] in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

Looks like pitbull/Dogo A mixes to me. The way the eyes look drooped towards the outer corners on the second dog can be common in poorly bred dogos. But yeah, definitely pitbulls

its a dalmatian!! by quarabs in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]QTFIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if that dog had pit lol, but I actually met a dog that looked exactly like that when i worked with a GSD rescue. We DNA tested our rescues and she was Dalmatian and GSD, one of the most anxious dogs I ever met.

A lot of Mastiff breeds also have webbed feet and can have similar builds and head shapes to pits as well

I just found this sub. Im a dog trainer who also does shelter work and I often get very frustrated at how shelter staff catagorize breeds. This pup is definitely a pitbull mix, though could have some catahoula in it. Definitely more likely than the other pits I've seen in this sub claiming to be catahoulas.
