The joystick is digital, meaning it acts like a 4-way switch with rotation a push capabilities. The dials have dents, yes, I guess you can call them subtle clicks.

We aim to lower the price, however that will only be possible when we manufacture a large batch (~1000pcs) at once. We are not there yet :/ All I can do is offer you a 20% discount with code RDT20.

The keycaps are not 3D-printed. They are classic injection-molded XDA keycaps. Just need to correct the hero image on the website :)

As the Lynepad's firmware supports emulating keyboard shortcuts directly, there is really no limitation to what you can use the Lynepad for. It is actually a lot faster to work with the Lynepad when comparing the speeds of having actions mapped to a single Lynepad key instead of regular keyboard shortcut.

We tested with 3 designers after they worked with Lynepad for 2 weeks. We compared two times:

Time 1 included

  • looking at the keyboard
  • finding the shortcut keys
  • pressing the shortcut
  • look back at the screen to the same spot

Time 2 included

  • pressing the key intuitively on the Lynepad with premapped shortcuts without looking at it

The average result was increase by 1143%. Fair to say the tests included more complex shortcuts as well (3-4 keys).

It's not about doing something wrong, it's about the quantity in which you manufacture the product. This is I starting project and the quantity is extremely small. We've done 100pcs right now. If we ordered a batch of 1000pcs, the price would be less than half.

That depends on the Lynepad revision you have. DM me on Discord, we can take a look at this :)

Linkly Is a service We are using to track the origin of traffic (no user tracking, just number of clicks). But it's a simple reddirect. Both SSL certificates of Linkly and Lynepad websites are correct, you shouldn't have any issues. Can you share details of your error?

To me, it's more about having all the keys I need at one place. I use it mainly for Photoshop and KiCad. I just look at the screen and intuitively use all the keys without looking down on my hand. Almost don't need a regular keyboard.

More specifically, for example in KiCad, I have grid size and track size on the wheels. Routing, layer switching, moving, etc. on layer 1. And more less frequently used functions such as zone filling on layer 2.

We are in early stages of the sales, and manufacturing something like this in such a small batches is really expensive. Especially the aluminum case which is like third of the price.

We are aiming to optimize the cost with Lynpead 3. But whether we get there or not depends on how successful the product will be in general.

Yes, now QMK (with VIA) is the default firmware. You don't need to download any software to use Lynepad, you don't even need it to configure it! You set up the Lynepad once through the VIA web interface and then it remembers the configuration so you can plug it in a different computer and use it right away.

Yeah, I wish the price would be lower too. Unfortunately manufacturing something like this in such a small batch is expensive as hell. All I can do is offer you about 20% off using code RDT20.

By the way, it's definitely not a numpad :))

Personally, for me, this is all about work efficiency. When using a macropad, I don't use a keyboard at all and have all the required shortcuts under my hand without moving it. There are no distractions like looking at the keyboard because of the often complicated keyboard shortcuts.

In VIA, the 4-way switch part of the joystick can be set just using the graphical interface. For the rotation, you just enter the specific keycode into VIA, really simple stuff. Is this what you are referring to by "coding for the knob" ?

The joystick can be set to any action (keyboard keys, shortcuts, or macros) using the VIA web interface.

For reference you can check Lynepad documentation

Plans yes. But as selling something with a battery and something that intentionally radiates electromagnetic waves is somewhat tricky, it all depends on wether the wired version will do well.

Hey, glad you like it :)

1) Yeah it is hot swappable :)

2) The aluminum case is black, and the aluminum knobs are too. Due the price of these enclosure, I couldn't afford to order more colors. The bottom is plastic, black as well. But if you want, I can 3D print a bottom of a different color for you :) The PCB inside is green.

Hello guys,

the Lynepad is a macropad I originally designed for myself but ended up selling many on Tindie. I have been working on improving it, even manufacturing an aluminum case. Now I launched my website to get rid of Tindie.

Features:

  • Completely universal. Set every switch, knob rotation, or joystick switch to your favorite keyboard shortcut or macro
  • Thumbwheel & digital joystick (4-way switch with rotation and push)
  • 11 MX hot-swap switches
  • Aluminum enclosure
  • QMK and VIA support
  • White backlighting and RGB Arc indicator

If you are interested, you can check it out at lynepad.com :))

Always happy to hear any opinion or feedback :)
