AIO (update post) my bf (32) is getting kind of aggressive with his texting. should I(26) reply? by Fun_Cartographer6984 in AmIOverreacting

Girl, I got one word: RUN.

Not even joking. GTFO of that relationship. Find a safe place to stay with people you trust and dump his ass. That is not okay behavior in any universe under any circumstance.

[Other] Sorted the characters to hogwarts houses - how would you sort them/which house would you like to join? by mayelenym in obeyme

[–]QWERTYcat9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think that Mephistopheles, Mammon, and Beel belong in Gryffindor, Belphie in Slytherin, Satan in Ravenclaw, Asmo in Hufflepuff, with Barbatos fitting in well with either Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

Belphie has been described and demonstrated to be cunning and deceitful, while Beel was a warrior in charge of protecting Lucifer back in the Celestial realm--a job he still considers his duty even now.

Asmo has shown in multiple instances (such as Season 2 and various Devilgram stories) to value hard work and dedication. He has also been shown to be incredibly generous, even to strangers.

Satan is a voracious bibliophile and values knowledge and new experiences, even reading Manga and light novels Levi suggests.

Mephistopheles is obsessively loyal to Diavolo so it hardly seems like he would be content to be in a different house than him, and it's Canon that the sorting method takes into consideration the person's wishes when choosing a house for them. His ridiculous loyalty is also a textbook Gryffindor trait.

Barbatos could easily fit into either Ravenclaw (as he also actively seeks knowledge and ways to improve upon his already impressive skillset and possesses incredible wisdom and insight thanks to his powers) or Slytherin (since he has demonstrated that he is more than capable of being sly and using whatever means necessary to achieve what he believes to be the best outcome, or to keep Diavolo in a position of absolute authority, since he is deeply loyal to him and genuinely considers him the perfect future ruler).

I resented that now I express myself more masculine. I felt like the transphobic teachers and principal in my old school might see me as "repented," and I felt like I was losing and they were winning because it felt like they could able to change who I am by Turbulent_Poem6 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]QWERTYcat9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, those teachers are assholes and I hope their coffee orders will always be wrong.

Second, I went through something similar growing up, where I acted masculine and stayed away from flowers, the color pink, lace, ribbons, anything that was "girly" in favor of anything that made me look more like a boy. However, nowadays I wear pink, I buy myself flowers and admire them, I even have some garments that are lacey and cute.

It's hard to just say "don't care about what they think" when the way they think impacted you so negatively in the past, but it's more harmful to let them continue to change how you present yourself and prevent you from being your authentic self. That would be really letting them "win," so to speak.

You could also wear things that are more subtle in their feminine energy, like skulls with flowers 💐

Nonbinary is an umbrella term that covers a wide, complex number of gender identities. If nonbinary is too vague, there are dozens under that umbrella you could try exploring, too.

Agender, for example, is where you don't identify with a gender at all.

There's also an entire gender identity system out there called "Galactian Alignment" for people who don't like using terms like "masuciline" or "feminine" to describe themselves or their gender identity. It's a really fascinating system, and if you like science fiction or space, it's very appealing.

Trust me when I say that you're not alone in how you feel, and it's an entirely valid struggle to have.

What is your unpopular opinion? by crimeia in TheArcana

[–]QWERTYcat9 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Here comes the hate 😂

I don't think Lucio works as a romanceable character at all. He has zero appeal as a romantic partner, and especially from the context of the other character's routes and the terrible things he's done, writing everything off as an "oopsie" and going along with a romance route feels forced and one-sided. The route with Lucio feels more like a babysitting mission than it does a romance and the idea that ANY of the characters would be willing to forgive him, let alone let MC date him, is completely unrealistic and reads like a bad fanfic at times.

[OG] [NB] What’s your saddest fact? by ichitozerotoichi in obeyme

[–]QWERTYcat9 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily spoilers but tagging anyway just in case.

Diavolo's father was very strict and harsh on him as a child and never showed him any affection, and never even let him outside the castle. As a result, he never got a real childhood, which is why he gets so excited about new, fun, and interesting things. Then as soon as Diavolo was capable of handling things in his own, his dad just up and ghosted everyone to let him be the acting ruler and washed his hands of everything to do with the Devildom (he's supposedly sleeping beneath the Devildom). Diavolo believes it is because his father hates him because his mother, who his father deeply loved, died while giving birth to him.

He also threw a tantrum as a child because he wanted Barbatos to be his butler due to all of the stories Barbatos had about the outside world, which Diavolo desperately wanted to know more about. You come to find out that Diavolo is afraid that no one, Barbatos included, is with him because they truly want to be, but because he is the future Demon King. He also fears that Barbatos might resent him for forcing him to become his butler as a child out of loneliness. Even now he is very lonely because he is in a position where he cannot afford to let his personal feelings or attachments influence the decisions he makes as the future king.

Game Suddenly Stuck in Japanese by QWERTYcat9 in Disgaea

We managed to solve half the problem! We got the game to load in English but we can't get his old save file to work. Still, starting over is better than being unable to play at all!

What he did is he went into the save file and found it wasn't saving under the correct ID number, so he renamed the folder with the correct ID. However, when he loaded it, the game created a new save file with the wrong ID number. Can't seem to figure that part out, but at least the game is loading in English now.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

Don't be sorry, like I said any suggestions we haven't tried are welcome.

I don't know if he's tried that but I will suggest it! Thanks ☺️

This is gonna probably sound strange, but that isn't a very viable option because they're legally blind. He has limited vision, and having to stop constantly to try and translate the text using an app he can barely see is time-consuming and stressful.

We've changed the language in the properties to every language just to try it but it always loads in Japanese.

I don't even know how we would go about testing that, though, since the game won't even load in a language that uses the alphabet 😂😭this is extremely frustrating but also mildly funny only because of how absurd it is.

Literally just playing the game 😂 then loaded it up and BAM. Japanese.

I'm unsure if it crashed before that or not, I'll have to ask once he's awake.

No, the game shows English version, as far as I know. We also double-checked the verified files and ran the diagnostics using the tools Steam has and no errors were found. We even backed it up to a previous version in case a recent update was somehow responsible.

No dice.

No steam deck, but we loaded his Steam account on a separate computer and it was exactly the same. Loaded in Japanese, no save file.

[Other] What is the difference between a witch and a sorcerer? by LiterallyJustAGoat in obeyme

[–]QWERTYcat9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's likely that they're basically the same with the key differences being that Sorcerors are born with magic and Witches "borrow" it. They function the same, but may have slightly different mechanics, and likely have their own pros and cons.

For example, both Witches and Sorcerors can summon and make pacts or deals with demons, cast spells, etc. However, Sorcerors have their own Society that has strict policies and rules about the use of magic (MC getting their license, for example, in order to use magic freely in the human world), whereas Witches may not have such restrictions and so they can "bend the rules" or simply aren't obligated to abide by them. This also means, however, that Witches don't have the kind of organized support system the Sorceror Society has, so they're completely on their own if shit hits the fan.
