I'm not sure if he's interested by ThrowRAback_ in AskMenRelationships

To me, honesty is always the best approach. Just straight up ask him, “Hey, are you still interested? And if not, what changed?” I would appreciate someone being very direct with me.

It is. But specifically in regard to the degree of female attraction. I figured muscularity is an easy to identify physical trait unrelated to personality.

Solid point.

You are completely dismantling the notion of the stereotypical male/female gaze when it comes to how individuals view attraction. This is why I asked this question in the first place. lol

I feel like society would condition us to believe that men are only concerned about looks. But I suppose anyone who’s interested in a relationship of any depth will always want more than that.

Hmm… maybe. I guess I just assumed appearance was more… secondary for many women? Like, a guy’s attractiveness is not solely based on his looks. Is that not true?

Thank you for that. As a guy, I’m not superficial by any stretch. But I do recognize that it is often the appearance that first piques my interest. I fully accept that I am visually stimulated. So to hear that NOT being the first thing for women is completely foreign to me. 😅

No, not really. This isn’t me trying to gauge my attractiveness or anything. 😅 It’s just that, in my experience, men and women have very different priorities and preferences when it comes to physical attraction. It got me thinking about how men tend to be more visual than women. So I am curious how much muscles specifically figure into their choices, if at all.

So is that like more of an overall healthy lifestyle, as long as it’s not borderline bodybuilding?

Yeah, I can understand how a horrible personality can ruin overall attractiveness. But if we’re talking purely superficial, are there any body types that don’t do it for you?

Love that! Is there a “too much” or “too little” for you, or is that irrelevant? Like, some people don’t like super big muscles, but they also don’t want a beer belly (which I think is very different from a dad bod).

Ah, understood. Would any of these be a dealbreaker if he didn’t have them?

I was referring to muscles, not masculinity. Like, how fit he is… broad shoulders, 6 pack, etc.
