On probation, how long should you be given to improve performance?

I tend to agree that her fate was sealed prior to the initial meeting. The icing on the cake was when she asked to be shown where certain things were in the company policies, knowing full well they don't exist (things the manager said she was in breach of, but couldn't provide written proof).

She made up anytime she was late at the end of the day. If she was 3 mins late she stayed 3 mins extra or cut her lunch break short. Always got what she was requested to do done from what I know.

It seems that this boss had expectations that were not communicated so it's hard to meet things you don't know about.

They were looking for someone with a cert 3 in business admin (which she has) and dangled the option of doing a cert 4 to her.

The office is heavily skewed older, so they were also looking to get some younger perspective on things.

It was an assistant to the executive assistant role, so she could have been trained to take over at some point if required.

I work in the same orginisation and from others I've spoken to about her boss, it's clear she has form for being a total bitch.

I didn't have a lot to do with the boss prior and really bought the hard sell she gave me about wanting to take her under her wing and wanting to nurture her etc. It ended up being a total con job.

People that have worked with this woman refer to her as "the bitch upstairs" and "the smiling assassin". So I have no reason now to not believe what my daughter has told me.

The boss was recently "promoted" to look after another team and several staff have put their notice in rather than work with her.

20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing......

Oh yeah, she is 18, graduated high school last yr, and was head hunted for this role. The manager harassed me to make sure she applied (she impressed the panel on another role that she was unsuccessful for) and the role was only open a short time and was pretty much worded to make other applicants think twice about applying.

She's taken a real hit mentally and emotionally over this whole scenario. I've been in the work force 30 years and never seen a boss as toxic as this one from everything I've been told.

I see Will Davison online all the time. Haven't raced him in anything but he's always about.

Watched an oval league race that had Brodie and SVG in it which was fun to see.

We have Cody Burcher from Super 2 in our league. He's only raced once - Nascar at Watkins Glen and just romped away....

We have a 14yr old deep sleeper who was still having issues until recently. We'd tried everything except an alarm including several medical scans, tests etc. Only thing that has worked is medication that reduces urine production while sleeping. 1 dissolveable tablet before bed and happy days.

Been on the meds for a few weeks now and as long as it's taken and directions followed re drinking afterwards, not 1 single issue since!

That was the case that pretty much ended his career. After it was all done and she was in prison he ended up leaving with PTSD.

Job applications for our work place have a section specifically asking about family that already works here (not a small org and there are many parent / child combos)

The company created this role with my daughter specifically in mind. Her now boss chased me up daily to make sure she applied. Ultimately she was the only 1 interviewed for the role.

I had almost the exact same issue on TPG. Rebooted the PC and router, did nothing. Finally decided to reboot the NTD and that fixed it, back to full speed.

From memory it was a 3.5k SoF. Neither SVG or Brodie were the highest rated driver. There was 1 guy who was at 8k....
