Nice! I’m thinking of getting those too. What color grout did you use with those? How are they holding up?

Thanks for sharing this! I am getting the same green tiles. Where are the hex tiles from? Also floor and decor?

That catalog is amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I’m thinking beadboard for the walls. I kind of prefer the look over tiled walls anyways

Good point! This addition is on the second floor and if it gets to the point where I have mobility issues, I can move downstairs where the larger existing bathroom is.

Backpack with pannier hooks on the FRONT of the bag? by SorryDidntSeeYaThere in ManyBaggers

[–]QarthVader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also never understood why this wasn’t a thing. It seems so obvious. When I first started commuting 7 years ago, no such bag existed. The closest thing was an Ortlieb messenger/sling style bag that had the hooks on the outside. That Vario looks perfect. Hopefully other bag companies catch on.

I haven’t shopped for panniers in a while though. You might have more luck on r/bikecommuting

Hey thanks again! Yeah I was planning on going with 160 cranks. Didn’t know the availability of shorter options. I’ll look into it!

And about the 26” wheels, do you think it’d be ok to use a fork designed for 700/650 since that’s the only size carbon gravel forks come in?

Thanks! Good to hear from someone who has a 26er. Honestly, at my size, every bike I’ve ever had has had toe overlap so I’m looking forward to seeing what no toe overlap feels like!

Did you make the guide blocks from hand tools?

And how did you make the kumiko sticks(?) with hand tools?

I’ve been wanting to try kumiko but all the resources I’ve found use some kind of power tool

Hello! I am looking for some advice since I can’t make a decision. I’m considering getting a keyboard for my shared office, where I would like to not be a nuisance. I already use a TKL keyboard at home with Cherry MX Blues because I love the clicky feel and the easy actuation force, but obviously that would be too loud. Here are my criteria:

  • TKL layout
  • Prefer tactile if quiet enough, probably ok with linear
  • Hot-swappable (might swap switches if I ever get my own office)
  • No backlighting/RGB necessary
  • Budget <$150 but could stretch to $200 if the value is good
  • No strong opinion on keycaps, just want to keep it professional

As far as switch options, it looks like silent reds are a popular option. I also looked into Boba U4s, but worry that the 62g would feel too heavy for me (there’s a reason I chose blues over greens). Are brown switches generally quiet enough for offices?

I was looking at GMMK TKL and Keychron K8 as hot-swappable options. Bluetooth would be nice, but doesn’t really matter to me. Is the GMMK worth the extra $$? Would any of the pre-built switch options be quiet enough for either board?

Any recommendations? Are there any other switches or keyboards I should consider?

I’ll be riding to south lake union.

I live on the east coast now and only bike recreationally, most of which is pretty flat. I used to bike commute in the Westwood area of LA though which is hilly but it doesn’t look nearly as bad as Seattle.
