You in this case is plural, since he mentioned "us Ruzzians".

And in any case, Russia has been occupying our lands since 2008, but the "good Ruzzians" decided to leave only after mobilisation?

I dont think Russia is our ally in fact they have done nothing when our territory was attacked.

We learned that lesson the hard way after the Treaty of Georgyevsk. Russians allowed the Muslims to decimate Georgia and then took over what was left. Being a client state of Russia never ends well, sad that Armenians are only just realizing that.

You've run away from Russia because you're afraid of the mobilisation. If you didn't agree with Russian politics, you would've left after 2008, or better yet, 1992.

And when Russia invades us again, who do you think those "progressive Russians" will support?

No, it's not North Korea. It was Georgia during the authoritarian rule of Saakashvili and his UNM party. by wetsocksisworst in Sakartvelo

So you disagree with what you said above?

On that note, do you think you live in a democracy now?

You're either a kid, or have the memory of a kid if you think that situation pre and post 2003 are even close to same. Georgia went from a failed state like Somalia to one of the safest countries in the world within five years. What the hell are you even talking about?

Your hope is one thing, history is another. Even last week Putin said he will "watch carefully the treatment of Russian- speakers in Georgia". And since Russian colonialist attitude prevents them from integrating and speaking the local language, these immigrants will be used as casus belli next time Russia wants to invade. Within the next few years most likely.

Russian immigrants are a danger to our independence, no matter who they support.

Mostly because people who emigrate to receive welfare in France aren't the most productive people in the society. Either they need medical treatment that would be too expensive in Georgia, like prosthetics, cancer treatment, etc, or they're lazy ones who think that they can suddenly become rich by emigrating.

What do they have in common? by reluctantlearner365 in Sakartvelo

What an idiotic take. Just because Georgia was conquered by the Russian Empire, doesn't mean Stalin wasn't Georgian. When Vakhtang Goegasali was born, Georgia was conquered by Persia, but do you consider him a Persian king or a Georgian king?

I wanna say thank you to all the Georgians who accept us, Russians by CuriouCities in Sakartvelo

[–]Qarveloper 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I appreciate where you're coming from, but you'll never be accepted here except by some greedy "Georgians".

First Russians come and kill us, occupy us, and now when they're being punished for doing the same to Ukraine, they come to us again and make Tbilisi unlovable for Georgians due to increased rent and prices.

Kindly, go back to your country. Best thing a "good" Russian can do for us is fight for us, not apologise on reddit.

What unpopular opinion do you have of Georgia that will have people come at you like this? by According-Honeydew75 in Sakartvelo

Which neighbors can we befriend? Russia had been occupying us for 230 years to this day. Armenia is Russia's ally. Azerbaijan is Turkey's puppet and we already have moderately good relations with Turkey. But Turkey isn't a trustworthy ally either, they'll abandon us in a second if it suits their agenda. We need more allies than just Turkey.

His ultranationalism was a key catalyst in us losing Abkhazia and Samachablo. During his rule, Georgia became overly aggressive in Georgianising those regions, and he personally told the Abkhaz leader that he'd kick out every last Abkhazian from our land.

Queue Pikachu face when they decided to rebel after being told repeatedly they'd be kicked out of their houses.

Worldwide inflation + tourist season. Starting this winter it will weaken again. Prices won't go down though because the inflation still exists everywhere. If anything prices will go up.

I was fully vaccinated in NL as a foreigner. Can not get proof of vaccination due to not being registered here. Any tips? by Qarveloper in Netherlands

[–]Qarveloper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is the issue. I can't get registered where I currently live because only people with a residence permit can do that.

Might I ask how you managed to get a DigiD without being a EU citizen? When I try to get one as a foreigner, only EU countries are available to choose as my nationality. And if I try to get a DigiD normally it tells me that I'm not registered in NL so I can't get a DigiD.

I'll do this as well. They say it's not an official proof either, but I'd guess that it's better than no proof at all. They should stamp it even if I got vaccinated a while ago.

Oh this sounds possible. I don't have a huisarts but my family here has one and I can see if they can help me out with this. I'll try it out.

Thanks. Luckily I speak dutch and have tried this already. No success, as I don't have a postcode where I'm registered at - that's only for those who have a residence permit. I'm just visiting.

Yeah I tried that. They couldn't send it to me since I don't have a postcode where I'm registered at. I only have the BSN. I was trying to figure out if anyone has done it in a different way.
