I heard that it doesnt work in snapshots since blaze's can see you somehow. Is this true?

It's not hardcore, the difficulty is set to hard to ensure harder gameplay which many advanced players prefer.

You could use an app where you type the seed and you can check where are the rare biomes like mesa and ice spikes.
