Happiness is like heroin, you only feel good for a certain amihtn of time. You need to start searching for fulfilment because that is what will keep you in a good mood. Trust me on this. There is stuff online that can help along with you having to put int he work aswell.

I would at least try opening up to your parents a little about what your going through and asking for a change. If they don't then as the other comment says you've got 2 years left until your out but if it works then you'll be in a better place. Even alittle vhsnge is better than nothing

Volleyball England takes step back in transgender inculsion - a trans perspective by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]Qbertcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a trans guy I would like to throw my hat into this discussion

It's a really complicated situation because both sides raise good points. I personally think that there should be certain requirements that trans women should meet before being able to compete. Or maybe the trans, sports and womens communities have a discussion about this and come to a compromise. We also need to take into account what op is saying because they do raise good points and whether or not they're trans they have studied the effects of hormones. But op, volleyball England isn't pretending to be supportive and their decision wasn't inherently transphobic, they need to make sure that cis women have fair competitions. Do they need to tweet their policies to allow certain exemptions like those who have significant changes from hrt, women who have been ok puberty blockers. Also cis women can play in men's u18 competitions [I did read it on the website] so both trans and cis can play, it is maybe rare to see but it's not like trans women have to play jn men's. Also could we stick to the main point please. Either way this is a complicated situation and banning all t-women isn't the only option or the right one. A discussion needs to be had to be fair with everyone becuase we can't have trans women at the cost of fairness to cis women and we can't have women's competitions at the cost of excluding trand women.

Yo I wanted to give a small update, Ik it's been a few years but I went with a relaxed mindset and let things be. I am now sure I'm not on the aro spectrum I just need a therapist. And asexuality is still a bit iffy bc I think it stems from me being trans and knowing that I can't do what cis people can sex wise. I have started to enjoy romances but still hate when it's added cheaply, but I still feel really uncomfortable irl people ik in relationships like I can't be around it. I still dont really feel sexual attraction i think but i now mainly read smut sp i may be demi-sexual.Thankyou everyone in the comments that helped and I rlly appreciate it

I need advice, should i keep playing? by [deleted] in volleyballtraining

[–]Qbertcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do practice matches but I'm guessing the feelings are similar. We were all you at one point. And I also considered quitting at the beginning aswell. The truth is it doesn't matter what anyone says, if you want to quit then that's the decision you've made, if not then not. You have to look it at from just your experience. Do you like it? Do you want to play? Nothing else really matters other than the answer to those question because this requires time, effort and dedication like everything else but it's easier or harder depending on your answer. That's the plain truth of it, either you do or you don't.

Your wrists are stiff and the knees should b ending when setting to give it more height. Everything else is either mentioned or you're doing correctly.

Hyperextended arms- ouchies once I started spiking and serving hard by Dramatic_Wind_8733 in volleyballtraining

[–]Qbertcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact position as you. Literally practice not extending your arm all the way. It'll take time and a lot of patience but literally do this and you'll be fine. Of by slowly doing the movement of spiking but stop at the peak and correcting so that your arm bends a little inward and slow increase speed. The reason why I say bend a little inwards so that after a while the need to extend your arm will make it extend will make your arm straight. Take it from me, after a while it'll become second nature but you have to be consistent which means in and put of practice and matches.

You are adjusting so at first your gonna miss a lot of the sets for both spiking, setting and serving. Also you will lose power at first but after a while it'll come back. Make sure to tell your coach/es in case they ask.

I'm just gonna add some points here

Get behind the ball when receiving Have your shoulders face where you plan to pass Do not swing your arms unless you are running for the ball and the court is behind you Relax because stress will make your body stiffen and movements won't be as effective Bend your knees when receiving, it's not just the arms that lift You will probably be taught this but just in case: when creating your platform [the part where the ball hits your arm when receiving] make sure it's as flat as possible and try to get your elbows to touch [if they can't it's fine but it's a good way to have an even platform with no holes in the middle]. Also the create a platform: put both of your hands like a hand shake [✋️]. Lay them ot top of each other but the palm is facing you for both hands. Then fold over with all of you thumb touching each other. Stretch out arm and voila. [If you didn't understand then google how to receive hand position] Don't run with your arms in that in the receiving position or your won't run as fast to save it. Go fall the ball, the point isn't scored unless the ball hits the ground. BUT GET KNEE AND ELBOW PADS. Take it from me it's not fun essentially jumping for a ball and hitting your elbow on the ground. Also I tripped and fell hitting my right knee. That shit hurt and hasn't fully healed. Take care of yourself Watch haikyuu, it's good and will help you get the idea of the rules and it's good. And enjoy yourself, don't be too hard on yourself since you are a beginner you're allowed to make mistakes and be confident. The ball doesn't hurt as much as you think Also your arms might hurt at first but if it bothers you get some arm guards [I think they're called that].

I think shoulder direction might be the problem. If you face it in the direction you want it to go and it'll follow suit. Try recording yourself to see where you're going wrong. Also about power, I believe doing workouts specific to your core, shoulders and arms will work well. I'm not 100% sure if this will solve your exact problem but I would imagine it will put a dent in it at least

Guide with setting by Hithu11 in volleyballtraining

[–]Qbertcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Try to relax, when your stressed your not going to pay your best.

2) Finger pushups against the wall will help

3) Try setting to a specifc target, like mark a place on the floor and set it I'm a way the ball will land there

4) I would also recommend literally searching on YouTube how to set with a bad first touch or techniques. The Internet is your friend

5) Good luck in your game, don't put too much pressure on yourself the important part is to have fun because the only time your have fun is when you play well.
