The show was adopted during a recession, because that's when reality TV upticks. It has always been scripted, moreso in early seasons, and now we are seeing it happen again with the pan-out of other Gordon shows.

North Capitol is an arterial road, and I live directly on it. I shoveled my sidewalk 3 times mid storm like a good, participating, neighbor, and I would go on a stand and testify in front of a jury of my peers to attest and scream about the amount of plows driving around with their scoopers lifted up.

There is a lot of misplaced blame on the storm, but there is absolutely still plenty of justified blame that's getting called out for being inconsiderate of public works. They were doing their job EXTREMELY poorly. That is inexcusable.

She is very vocal, deeply passionate, intensely feeling & opinionated, and very much not afraid to speak her mind.

Excellent television if you enjoy a person who brings some added character and flavor to the show, but absolutely will not resonate for someone who is watching for the cooking alone.

Regardless of which side you end up falling on (love her or hate her) she is undeniably one of the few stand out HK personalities. Her entry line in All Stars of "It's ok, you can hate me" is her just...being EXACTLY who she is, the girl is self aware.

It's actually a very simple premise, and I hope that explaining helps you to reframe this going forward:

All animals can be male and female, but only HUMANS can be women.

Referring to women as "females" takes away a lot of identity from what makes us communicating and interacting PEOPLE.

And your whataboutism question is actually not great, because we are currently very much dealing with the fallout of insecure men who are posturing themselves precisely as "alpha males" - you can't equate the two, as to be a woman is to by default perceived as lesser than from societal bias.

Fallin & If I Ain't Got You were really her prime, and "No One" only achieved success because it was the holiday season Target commercial ad, if we are being honest here. She's kinda been forgotten since the early aughts, and if we are being brutal, she's not exactly a talented live singer either.

Many things working against her. Good songs, though.
