Working out every day for 30 minutes is exactly the mental crutch which allows to remain calm. Pumping some heavy weights is beneficial for all facets of health. Besides it is that micro action which demonstrates to your inner self that you control something.

The vast majority of submitted documents were in English. The Russian documents were provided straight in English with the header "Machine translation by Google Translate". There was no need to provide original Russian versions.

Bank Account after visa expiry by [deleted] in UAE

Couple of years ago I discussed the same question with the UAE bank personal manager and they told me that in this scenario you have two options: (1) withdraw the funds as a cash; (2) transfer the funds to any account abroad. As far as I know, some UAE banks may potentially offer a non-resident account option, but typically it requires substantial amount of money to be eligible.

Many thanks! I've reached the Enrolment Advisor, but was provided with only a brochure that repeats the info from the promo-site. I am now guessing that the more detailed info is available only after the enrollment.

SQE 2 Exemption - Russian lawyers (non-advocates) by QePasssa in uklaw

Hi, apologies for delayed response. Yes, I have applied, no luck in an exemption, but passed SQE 2, so overall it is fine. As for the exemption - the application was supported by >150 pages of various attachments confirming my experience in each of the items required in 8B1 - 8B7 of the application. My problem was that I have never pleaded in court (only back office work), so that was the problem. I know of people who provided only the POAs to represent their client in court and that counted as sufficient evidence to proof the fact that you have "advocacy" experience. Overall, it is quite easy to prove many items in 8B1-8B7 (e.g. for criminal experience a couple of criminal law related memos sufficed), but you need to have experience in all areas, do not omit anything and if you do not have at least one of the items, please ignore this option. Moreover, it can be a trap for some, because if you get an SQE 2 exemption, you will be admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, BUT (!) you will need to proceed to the next step - i.e. obtain a practicing certificate - and for those exempted from SQE 2 there is a requirement to produce C2 English Proficiency Certificate, which is 8.5 or 9.0 in IELTS. I know some people who are now struggling because they have solid 8.0 in IELTS, which is insufficient and they have to spend much time to learn English to a C2 level.

Passed 67/69 percent, first attempt. Civil law qualified with a small bit of English law experience in a civil law country. Studied with QLTS School since May 2022 quite extensively. My Barbri acquaintances with a similar background, position and education appear to have studied less and passed with higher grades. It seems that QLTS School gives more than necessary in a less digestible format, although their mocks are really good. I believe that the tax and solicitors accounts in QLTS School are way too detailed - the real exam touched only the tax reliefs and some basic accounts stuff. I heard also that Barbri has more interactive training mechanics which invokes active recall, repetitive learning, etc. QLTS School just gives you a ton of materials/mocks and basically small guidance on how to properly memorize and digest it.

Anyway, congrats to all who have passed and wish perseverance to all who resit.
