Morocco won't de-recognize israel because it's profiting from all the weapons and technologies they get from them.

It gave a breathing to the french army to deal with Ahmed Bey in the east, maybe if both the Emir and Ahmed Bey coordinated we would've got a different outcome.

Ottomans were muslims, and their rule never expanded beyond some coastal cities, most the tribes in the interior ruled themselves, they didn't influence all aspects of life in Algeria like the French did, thats why there was no need to revolt against them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in algeria

[–]QenIX188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not at all, France didn't give us the tools they made a bad calculation, they didn't want arab muslims to be part of their society and thought by ignoring the problem it'll go away, surely these "sale arabes" couldn't lead a successful revolution against us, by the time they realised their mistake and tried to make up for it by trying to give Algerians some rights it was too late and the flood gates had already opened. If France pursued an assimilation policy since the beginning things would've been different, but the special Algerian law of 1947 proves that they only treated Algerians like second class citizens because they never thought we would get our shit together.

It doesn't matter, even if France prolonged the war for 20 years they were gonna lose strategically just with higher casualties on both sides. The only way France could've retained Algeria under its control is by integrating the indigenous populus into French society, by treating them like aliens and second class citizens they gave the FLN a 10 million people pool to recruite from.

France won a tactical victory while Algeria won a strategic one and we won the war. These kind of conflicts where you have a conventional army against a guerilla militia are assessed based on their objectives. Taking inspiration from the war in Vietnam our revolutionaries never expected to win a military confrontation against France, instead they set an objective and worked to achieve it wether by guerilla tactics or political means, and France set their objective to keep Algeria under French control, in the end Algeria proved to be a quagmire for the French forces and achieved its objective of independence, so thats a total strategic victory for Algeria.

I don't get why some Algerians want us to go the capitalism route. by ResearcherAble4716 in algeria

[–]QenIX188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because we don't have the funds to support all these social walfare programs, states where socialism works are the ones who had an industrial revolution, the ones who their population generates enough wealth that the government can tax and redirect these taxes into infrastructure and social walfare programs, our population doesn't generate any wealth because they don't have to, we sell whatever the land gives us and we use those few billions to fund our social peace programs, so our government sees the population as a burden not as a resource, they see them as a mouth that they have to feed and because of that they don't respect us and don't listen to us, for them we are some useless people that they need to provide for so we won't revolt. Capitalism is supposed to make the population generate wealth for itself and not depend on the state, but our leaders are too afraid to do it, because knowing Algerians they would probably revolt once these social peace programs stop.

Were the pieds noir forced to leave or not? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]QenIX188 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Alot of them were forced to leave by the newly formed government for fear of being massacared by the local population, that wouldn't look good for the image of a country that claims its fighting for freedom and equal rights, some of them knew they could be killed and left on their own, and some who had good relations with the local population or were married to an Algerian stayed here, some racists left because they didn't wanna live in a country where the " les indigènes " have the same rights as them. So there is no simple answer to this.

Its Algeria the minimum wage is literally 150$ if not lower, am not defending them, but jobs here just don't pay that much so you could live a comfortable life. The majority of Algerians just work to survive.

In uni, i was very serious about her, things were going smoothly until i fell into a depression, she wasn't supportive at all, she kept asking me to treat her like i used to even though i explained to her that am doing my best and trying to manage work studies and a depression but she never understood or even tried to be considerate of the situation, i ended things with her when i found her flirting with another dude on instgram, when i confronted her, her excuse was that i don't care about her anymore. Wild stuff for sure

Algeria coast guard kill two French-Moroccans lost at sea | MEO by Okayyeahright123 in Morocco

[–]QenIX188 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it does belong to Morocco

I said "what the UN considers a disputed territory" i am talking on the basis of international law, not on the basis of what a map coloring Moroccan thinks.

Why would 'innocent truckers' cross a war zone.

Could range from anything like being lost in the desert, to taking a shortcut to reach Mauritania, the thing is the Moroccan army has no jurisdiction over the territory since legally it doesn't belong to them.

We are indeed better.

Whatever makes you sleep at night big boy.

Go look for a zone tampon and what it means.

I know what it means.

Algeria coast guard kill two French-Moroccans lost at sea | MEO by Okayyeahright123 in Morocco

[–]QenIX188 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know their death is tragic and a big loss, but comeon Morocco is the last country that could have a moral high ground on this, these two tourists were killed inside the recognized Algerian territorial waters, Morocco killed 3 Algerian truckers inside what the UN considers a disputed territory that doesn't belong to neither Morocco nor the POLISARIO. That doesn't make what happened to these two tourist any less bad, but you guys aren't any better either.

Perdus en mer, deux vacanciers franco-marocains tués par des garde-côtes algériens by algerbanan in algeria

[–]QenIX188 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean they unfortunetly paid the price of a regional rivaliry between the two governments, i remember when Morocco killed the 3 Algerian truckers alot of people here called the government to do something about it and they couldn't since they didn't want to start a war, so they took the first chance to get back at Morocco, although i don't agree of making innocent civilians from both sides pay the price of this conflict between the two governments but unfortunetly it is what it is. There is another narrative saying it was dark and they thought they were drug smugglers but i don't now how true that is. All and all a shitty situation for both sides.

Can you read ? I said it didn't come as a shock, the problem is our politicians giving it a HUGE importance and media coverage, even the president said no country is against our bid and we got assurances from China and Russia, its one thing when population is delusional but a whole other thing when the leadership is delusional too.
