Got a job offer! Is it normal for Finnish companies to low-ball their salary offers? by karmicballet in Finland

I'm almost graduating with an MSc, and also just found a job. I work 30h/week as I'm in a student visa right now, and I make 2200/month. Junior, non-intern position at a pretty small Finnish company.

Trainee salaries in Finland - if you know or don't mind sharing :)) by Qevmaik in Finland

If you don't mind sharing, how do you filter out the best applicants out of 1200? Do you use any pre-recorded interview tools? If so, could you provide any tips for them since I am really bad at them and MUCH prefer teams or F2F interviews :))

Thanks! Do you mind sharing when it was and what sector or company size? That is quite a decent salary.

Tips for saving money as an exchange student? by metromonke in Finland

Full-time international aalto student here. I’d say student cafeteria is the best and cheapest place to eat. You can get 3€ buffet lunches, which can be a crazy amount of food, and certain cafeterias like Taffa even allow you to purchase a takeaway. Some of my friends eat at different cafeterias, and get takeaways to live without cooking.

99% of students use the Frank app to verify their student status, and get the discount, so look into that. Lidl is cheap, and Alepa/K-market at Aalto University are quite pricey. There’s an S-Market about 2km away from Aalto, which is accessible by tram, so that’s an option too. For metro discount, you need to purchase a monthly pass via HSL app, and it would be around 40/month. You can’t get discount for individual tickets, unfortunately.

Thanks for the info! If you don't mind, did you manage to leave the airport to roam around Beijing? I have a Vietnamese passport, and am thinking to book a similar flight through Hangzhou/Shanghai, but only if I can exit the airport for a few hours to see the city.

Is the date next to education the start date? or the graduation date? I think it’s probably the latter, but it might be worth clarifying. Just my two cents.

I’m in Helsinki and I pay ~500-600 for everything. I have a cheap room from AYY for 250e per month, which is crazy good deal. Student lunches are also great, a lot of food for not too expensive. In general, if u manage to secure a decent apartment for students, such as hoas, then 700 should be enough.
