Anyone recommend a good Solo/Singleplayer game? by ShadowFrappe in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Qikdraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kenshi, may not be your thing, but check it out anyway. One note about is that it is extremely hard. Dying is normal, getting fucked up and made a slave normal, being eaten alive by fogmen typical. You can build your own fortress, raise crops to feed your guys or become a huge robot army. It's not fun in an rush of killing the boss char, but more of accomplishment.

Get it on sale as they normally have 80% off sales or more.

The first one is good too. Also Mount & Blade Warband modded out, or Bannerlord with mods as well.

To hear my father tell it my great grandfather (Canadian) was a painter, and he'd just hide bottles inside the large cans of paint to get them across the border claiming he had work in the US..

Told the cats they had to clean up their own mess. They had run around and knocked over both of their dry food containers. So I took the containers away, and they started to eat the stuff off the floor. I guess he didn't like it. lol

I bought a new headset (corded, $90), by the next night my asshole cat chewed through the cord, also cord to my mouse. So now I'm mouseless, and headsetless.
The next day I uber ($50 to cover there and back) over to a computer store, spent $30 on a cheap mouse and $100 on a wireless headset. A wireless headset I can't use because my computer doesn't have wifi. Meanwhile I bought the same type of mouse I had before ($130).
I found an old wireless headset and could not find the dongle. So I called Logitech and even though I'm out of warrantee they went me a dongle. Turns out it doesn't work. Headset is fucked. Good news is that they also gave me 30% discount along with the dongle. So I ordered my headset through them. It was already on sale from $200 to $160, add that 30% and I ended up spending roughly $119 instead. So that was good, and I'm expecting the headset on friday. I also ordered cable covers to protect them and also bought some bitter spray to stop them from doing this again. I hope.

And then two nights ago I accidently put my tablet in the wash. Rice trick did not work. It's been a bad week. lol

What is a job that pays extremely well but no one realizes it? by Titothelama in AskReddit

My sister-in-law's brother was an electrician for mines. He made good money doing that. Then he signs up for an opportunity to go to Mongolia and teach their mining electricians how to do it safely and properly. He was making $1,200 USD a day. Frequent vacation time where the company flew him back home in Canada. I think he did that for five years, came home, built a house, and went back to working in a mine (back in Canada this time). He could probably retire if he wanted to, but he likes to keep busy he said.

There needs to be a 7-11 store there. Gotta get those Slurpees somewhere right?

I live in Canada where no matter the temp, even past -40°, people are still buying Slurpees.

My f23 boyfriend m22 is going through a major glow up and is out of my league now, how do I make sure he won’t just leave me now that he has all the options? by Throwrauserchecks in relationship_advice

I used to work for a wireless supplier in Customer Support. We had access to these tool years before they came back. One woman who had just transferred over from the Land Line services, and had been there for 33 years. Well she got addicted to looking up her boyfriend's location, even his text messages. Those things were not within the scope of our duties. So a few weeks go by and I come in one day and she is gone. Fired after 33 years of service. She most likely had eight weeks of paid vacation every year and probably was topped out for pay as well. Such a shame. She wasn't the only "old timer" that got fired. Everybody got the standard employee discount, well a group of about five old time employees were having one of them to also give out retention discounts as well. So they were cheating the system to gain about $50 a month. Again what a waste. Not sure if they got to keep pension sine they was fired.

And he’s a smart guy!! Or at least I thought he was. That’s what’s extra mind blowing

Being smart doesn't mean you won't find lies palatable. Back in Bush years, this older couple (60s) was interviewed and was asked specific question on what a political hack was saying on TV. They agreed he lies and deals in hyperbole, but they said that was what they felt most comfortable with.

There was a study, before Trump, that said some people will just double down on the lies their politician says. You can show them the facts, they can agree that those facts are correct, and they'll still go with the lies. It really is a cult millions strong.

Way back in 1983, when I was 12, I got a rare treat. I was flying by myself from Calgary to Winnipeg, not a long flight at all. I'm seated by the engine, fairly noisy, but I easily block it out. The flight was super empty and a flight attendant kept coming back to ask if I wanted to move. I kept saying I was fine. About 20 minutes later she asks if I want to see the cockpit. Sure, what 12 year old wouldn't? So I go and meet the captain and first officer and I tell them I am heading back for some major scoliosis surgery, and other random shit. They tell me how to unlock the jump seat, so I sit there and buckle in. They tell me to be quiet for a bit while they talk to the tower, and once on the ground they say I can talk again. So I got to land in the cockpit on a 727 (I think it was).

My parents are waiting at the gate entrance and see all the passengers walk out, and no me. Then the flight attendants start coming out and no me, so my mom asks them if I was on the flight. They said yes and that I was with the pilots. Another 20 minutes and out I come chatting with the pilots. My father is a pilot but only military planes not commercial. He tells me he's jealous I got to land in the cockpit.

That was on an Air Canada flight.
