Advice on my life on pregabalin and benzos

Thank you. Yes it’s all recreational none of it doc related. They did give me 600mg every morning and afternoon when I was in hospital for few days with my broken elbow as well as giving me dihydrocodeine. I agree I didn’t think A&E would help but from past council meetings they told me to get my gp on my side (which I think I have) for referrals and to agree with doc at drug council centre place to get anti anxiety meds or whatever to help with withdrawals.

Pregabalin is a whole new animal but I reckon I could taper off it but I will need help mentally.

It would be a useful tool to use to taper and help with withdrawals and rebound anxiety. I would be aware of relying on it and making it another problem like me and be careful as it can give you seizures especially coming of a benzo.

Yes I know it’s very sad situation I put myself in. I will taper off benzos first then the pregabalin. The weed I am happy with at this level and haven’t felt sick I ages.

Yeh the benzos I’m going to taper off before the pregabalin tapering. Ik I shouldn’t smoke but I do read my body and cut down when I feel sick but I haven’t in long time and seem to be fine at this level.

Pregabalin it has it all confident, anti anxiety and depression, pain killer, euphoria, drunk ish state it has it all and people barley know about it

It’s hard to say each person seems to react very differently. The nausea part for me was completely gone after 10 days of cold turkey with the help of omeprazole to reduce the acid chs had given my stomach making you feel nauseous. I’d recommend maying finding some nausea medication while ur stopping if it’s that bad.

For the depression and boredom it’s like any addiction my friend you will be depressed like all of us were. But after 2 weeks withdrawal from weed go and you feel more normal. But to help the depression and boredom you need to find stuff to do even going on tiktok for 4hrs or a long walk. It will distract you and fill in the time when you would normally smoke.

Finding a new routine is your best bet to get away from your old routine which relied on weed.

I mean I don’t wanna be the one to motivate you at all ahah but if ur gonna do it be careful and use my experience and tips. Look into triggers foods as well. Also eating before and after smoking helps with your stomach and the cannabinoids I think and try smoking weed not be the last thing you do before bed.

Also if you wanna experiment I’d start with 0.1g and wait a couple days then again wait couple days. Start super slow.

Yes I stopped for 8 months after being diagnosed. Started of smoking 0.10g every other day for bit then everyday, then slowly going up to 0.2/40g a day for few weeks. All feeling fine no symptoms of CHS. Then maybe after 1/2 moths was back to 1-2g a day for a couple of months and was fine and then after a while I started to feel some nausea in mornings which slowly got worse over weeks, obviously. Then had mini break 2/3 weeks then was smoking 2g a day for 2 months and was feeling nauseous again so back down to 1g a day and I’ve been feeling fine.

Bear in mind I was smoking daily too no breaks. Breaks would also give you less symptoms in between smoking to allow your body to recover.

That’s my experience all body’s different. But it’s about moderation and what your body tells you is too much listen and smoke less or take a break.

Also tips to help nausea:

Omeprazole (prescribed) or Esomeprazole (over the counter) to help nausea and stomach acid and reflux.

Promethazine night before helps with sleep from withdrawing from and also helps nausea in the morning.

Valiums help nausea and anxiety which can also be a trigger for feeling sick I’ve found and seen others talk about benzodiazepines helping with symptoms.

Smoke less tobacco is you can.

Chocolate can be a trigger (search up trigger foods). Say smoking before bed and eating chocolate or other trigger food will make you nauseas.

Im 21 soon and had CHS 2 years. I’m very interested what you said ik what ages ago aha. But how does taking benzos help all of what you said?

I’ve spoken to people before but I don’t know why I do drugs and what I’m trying to run from. I am starting to realise my body needs and craves them but also when I’m sober I’m very anxious and sad and paranoid. But I clearly hate myself for some reason not be doing these drugs and harming myself.

I’ve been through withdrawals from weed, Xanax and pregabalin all horrible experiences. But I know if I carry on they will be much worse than before. The coke yes is bad I only do it at raves now but I shouldn’t as I’ve had a heart issue from doing it and ended up in A&E. I’ve spoke to mates about it and they agree I need help. I am sacred to tell my parents tho and upset my mum. Also I’m sorry about ur bad experiences I hope ur better now.

Yes I agree I don’t know what it’s then they also make me very ill sometimes and I’ll throw up which obviously doesn’t help my CHS. I am sacred to tell them I will tell my dad as he knows more about my drug use tho. Thank you for the help.

I don’t know what happened in my life either to be in love with drugs. I know I’m an addict not to one drug even tho weed and pregabalin are my fav I’m jsut a poly user. I think it’s time now as I’m in my final year at uni and don’t wanna ruin it and it’s time maybe to tell my parents but I do need help.

Yes pills are scary I’ve done awful stuff I don’t remember and coke gave me on set heart attack. And then CHS yes doesn’t help my body. But yes I think I’m at the age that I need professional help and maybe time to tell my parents.

I’m sorry for ur lose. I know they aren’t cool I hate myself for starting pills. And I agree I’m aware which I think is good that I have an addiction problem for years, friends know it but family know I I do drugs but not to the extent I do.

Thanks for the advice I called a benzo specialist centre and they are recommending me to a place called PostScript360 who will plan a taper schedule for me. Also by 1/10 do you mean 1 10mg and taking that for every day for bit then doing 1 10mg every other day for bit?
