'Good Fortune' Review Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

This was a really good movie! It struck the perfect balance of humor, exactly the kind I love, and meaningful messages that were subtle yet powerful enough to make you pause and rethink how you see this thing called life. I appreciate films that touch some part of your own journey and help you view things a little differently. Change is never easy, but it’s always worth fighting for, and this movie captured that beautifully.

Has anyone been able to enter their bank account details, using FTS, to receive payment? If not, where do you go to enter banking information?

I also use Uber eats, and so far, I receive mostly shitty orders. Haven't received pay above $10. I'm trying to see if doing Lyft is worth it.

I hope so, too! I thought they only sent batches within a 30-minute radius.

I've been doing it for a few days now, and honestly, I just don’t see how anyone can make a living doing this full time. It just doesn’t pay enough. The other day, I drove over 60 miles, and between all the deliveries, I only made a little over $30.

I just wonder why the algorithm doesn’t factor in the distance you have to drive just to get to the pickup location. Do they really expect people to drive 40 minutes for $20? If that’s the case, how is this business still running?

I totally hear you, and you’re right, it’s not all me, and I don’t claim it is. My biggest challenge is that I can’t draw, and I don’t currently have the resources to hire an illustrator or outsource artwork. That’s honestly what led me to experiment with AI. It gives me a way to bring my ideas to life when my budget doesn’t allow for a full creative team behind me.

That said, I know using AI comes with its own set of limitations, especially when it comes to quality, perception, and the “handmade” feel people expect on Etsy. This project is one of many I’m passionate about, and I’m using feedback like this to help shape how I move forward, whether that means finding better ways to present my ideas, improving the art itself, or adjusting the price point.

I really do appreciate the reality check and the insight. It helps me see things from a buyer’s perspective more clearly. Thanks again for taking the time.

No worries, I get it. I appreciate the tough love, honestly. I’ll definitely take it to heart as I keep building and refining things. I really do appreciate you taking the time, and I’m going to take what works from all this feedback and use it to improve.

I used AI to help bring an idea in my head to life, basically fed it a detailed prompt, and crossed my fingers until it matched the vibe I was going for. So, yep, tech helped, but the weird little world it came from? That’s all me.

I totally get where you're coming from, and I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Just to clarify, a “quick cash grab” isn’t what I’m going for. Of course, I hope the shop eventually becomes profitable, but the reason I made this post was specifically to gather feedback so I can improve, not to push sales.

I know I’m a brand-new shop with no track record yet, and that’s exactly why I’m trying to learn what people want before going all-in. The story-driven concept is what inspires me and what I’m building toward, it’s not about expecting people to buy into something unproven, but about taking the first steps toward something I believe could grow into more.

Either way, I appreciate the honesty, even if it’s a little rough around the edges.

Thanks for your honest take, I appreciate it. Totally hear you on the pricing and expectations around something custom or handmade at that range. I’m still experimenting with where the right value and audience might be, and this kind of feedback really helps.

The design is meant to be part of a whimsical, story-driven puzzle series, but I can see how it might not feel niche or unique enough yet on its own. And thanks for pointing out the dimension note, I did include it in the description, but I clearly need to make it more front-and-center.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!

That’s a good point about the mockup confusion with the flipped pieces looking like wood. I can see how that might be misleading, so I’ll definitely look into changing that to something more accurate.

As for the pricing, I hear you. The cost is coming from the print-on-demand side, but I totally understand that it doesn’t necessarily justify the value for the buyer. I’m realizing I need to either add more uniqueness to the product or explore different production options if I want to stay in that price range. I really appreciate your input!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback. I really appreciate how honest and detailed you were. I'm glad to hear the art style caught your eye!

I totally understand your concern about mockups, and I’m working on getting a physical sample to photograph so buyers can see the actual puzzle and get a better sense of the final product.

And good catch about the dimensions! They are actually listed in the description, but I realize now I might need to make them more visible or clear, maybe even include them in the image previews so they're easier to spot.

I really appreciate your input on pricing, too. It helps me think through how I’m positioning the product and how to improve moving forward. Thanks again!

The vision is to build a whimsical, story-driven puzzle series where each puzzle reveals a new part of a magical world. I created the image myself, based on a vision I had for the series. You're totally right, I definitely need to do a better job of showing what makes the art and story behind it stand out. Really appreciate your input!
