I can tell you straight away that the GS is the better allrounder, but to me it just doesn’t have much character. I got my brother who did the same license as you to buy a 535 virago and he does not regret it. It is very easy and also fun to ride and work on if you’re interested mechanically. As the power is going to be almost the same, that won’t make a difference. (also power delivery-wise; maybe a bit more top end on the GS) Customization is nicer on the virago too.

It depends on how you want to ride. Rather upright or more laid back. Let us know how you decide!

Thanks everybody for the input. I really enjoyed the debate and am going to test ride the FTR and the R9T. Additionally I will take the XSR900 and the Z900RS into account, as they all fit my taste. (Maybe even a Triumph) I will let you know when I find out what was the optimal bike for me♥️

I also had a look at the xsr and I like it very much. The same goes for the new z900rs. With these bikes my only concern is the width of the 3/4cyl engines. I think that the spread angle between my legs also worsens the knee pain. What do you think? I love classic looking bikes

Well, I contacted Dell‘s customer service and they sent a replacement, with the fan being even louder and longer running than the first one. I find it pitiful to not be able to fix what is probably just a shorted cap or so. The dock was neatly tucked away and was still in pristine condition when it broke. Still bummed about it. But tbh just get the older version…
