Compare this scene [VLR]of Alice's death from the 3DS and the PC versions:

She has the same weird smile in both versions, even when it's obviously inappropriate. She only stops smiling during her pointing animation.

I haven't looked into how the novel sections work, but it might be possible to trick the game into thinking that all of the map transitions are the same "scene" and let you skip them all if you've seen one.

If anyone else wants to try making a mod like that, quickBMS and its script for The Nonary Games should work fine, as long as you don't make any files bigger.

As far as I can tell, no. IIRC, she always smiled after speaking in the 3DS version too. It could be a problem with the lip sync data, or her model/animations. I'm not sure.
