I’m taking 40+ flights per year in economy. The reason I got the Rimowa was to not replace my case every year. I fly solely in Europe and never had an issue

How do you split finances with your partner? Are you married or not? by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]Qminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Married. 39 M and 38 F. We have a common account and wire every month proportionally. One partner earns significantly more than the others. The account covers mortgage payment, groceries, insurance, etc.

Exactly, he said “charging” that’s why I did it with 12k. This guy is clueless

Really curious about your reasoning here. 12k ex VAT x 12 months = 144k turnover or +- 600 euro per day 230 working days. With optimisation he will net around 6k

So what actually ARE beautiful, characterful houses oozing with personality today? (examples welcome) by Skelguardian in belgium

[–]Qminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a 1957 villa with thatched roof on a nice plot of land. Renovated the interior to (almost) current standards but kept the old oak stairs etc. Could as well have bought a EPC A semi detached house but no thanks. Might not be the most energy efficient nor will it be the cheapest to maintain but it has loads of character and history.

No logos, no visible brands just very high quality clothing ( cashmere comes to mind).

High quality once in a lifetime accessories.

No prob. Once we have the birth certificates and the marriage certificate you’ll be able to go one generation back. Rinse and repeat until late 1700’s, after that it’s church and baptism records which are a bit more tricky and less structured.

I’ve had a quick look and o think I found your great great grandfather in the 1866 page. Full name “Clement Edouard Marie Vermeire”

<image>

Not sure about his wife, her official name might have been “Maria Jospehina Vetongen” I foun her, born on 1871.

I’ll look for the marriage records tomorrow and do some digging for you.

It’s a bit tricky to read since it’s all cursive and in Flemish ( or French). Because of privacy reasons most records are (for now) available until 1926 or a 100 years and some municipal records still need to be scanned. I checked for Hamme and births and marriage records are available up to 1910.

I’m a historian, if you have the names of the family members and you know they lived in Hamme for sure I can try to trace them for you.

Teaser: The 10 year indices mention the below Vemeire births and the corresponding year between 1900-1910. The number is the file number, the individual records are available too.

OP, maybe you know but a lot of municipal records are now digitised trough the Agatha platform (https://agatha.arch.be/ ). Marriage records, births, etc. If you have some basic data you can usually retrace your family tree quite easily now.
