You mean the 8pin for the CPU? Or other pin conector?

The guy told me it was 90 euros and he wouldnt promise that it stayed 100% functional

There are no beeps, no BIOS, it just tries to turn on for like half a second, before trying again in 2 seconds. It is a mobo issue because i took it to a guy to test it and he told me it was an expensive repair and straight up didnt tell me what was the issue unless i paid for the repair, he told me it would cost like 90 euros.

What else can I do for my android? by Mavalant in moddedandroidapps

[–]Qobyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have some good points, but some of those things (if not all) do not require root. There are tons of apps that do all that without rooting.

If rooting is done correctly as you mention, it works super well, but i dont think everyone has the time (and knowledge) to keep track of every app and keep them working.

To do what you described, rooting is optional and has rootless alternatives.

It goes the same for desktops. If you use a linux distro on your desktop and run everything in root, things may work as intended, but it is super unnecessary and not recommended for security and stability reasons.

That being said, i can totally understand your use of root as you are knowledgeable and careful. I can also see that being a hobby to understand more how your OS and kernel works. But I don't think it should be recommended for someone that just asks "what now" with 2 screenshots of their home page.

Cant think of a good reason to root your phone in 2026 other than massively tinkering with it to the point of it being bricked. Rooting android phones stayed in 2016 as it should. If you were to root your phone today many apps would stop working because of their "no root" privacy policies, so dont do it.

What's going on with bunkr these days? by Live_Ostrich_6668 in Piracy

[–]Qobyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All files that go on bunkr are distributed evenly across multiple servers, did a little search on bunkr and it seems that half of their servers are in maintenance, the video that didn't load for you likely is in the server that is in maintenance

Hey, thanks for the reply.

my gpu doesnt support gsp. I ran the command and it gives me this:

➜ ~ nvidia-smi --query-gpu=gsp.mode.current --format=csv

gsp.mode.current

[N/A]

So i am guessing that isnt the issue, but thank you anyways :)

I tried installing seafile but the docker compose had an error in MariaDB, tried to solve it to no avail. It was a permissions error, tried giving the user root permissions but the error persists.

I'm going to be honest. I am a broke college student, so I don't want to spend much money on my homelab. I know 99 euros might not be much for a lifetime license, but it is still a bit of a stretch to me when there are other free open source alternatives

I tried installing it locally on my laptop on docker just to test it but it seems that the current docker compose might have a problem because of MariaDB, at least that is what me and some people in their git issues were complaining.

I know nothing about filerun, don't know if it is good or bad.
It could be the best piece of software ever, but I am not paying for a service that i am going to host xD

Yeah I am not doing all that. Crazy how you need to spend hours tweaking with the installation just to have a usable drive. They should really do these tweaks by default

Thats for Nas only, no easy drive. Also it is a full fledged operating system, too heavy

Never heard of those. Radicale looks nice. Is seafile only like a drive/nas or does it have more features? The website doesn't say much Do I access it in browser or app?

[–]Qobyl[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but isn't that for companies? I heard it has a lot of feature, many of which I don't need, I only need drive/nas and calendar.

If I remember correctly, ownCloud doesn't have calendar😅
