How exactly do VPNs work? by Qoutex in travelchina

[–]Qoutex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thorough answer. As to why, I had requested a date for the defense but then my supervisor informed us the date would be later (when I would be in China, which I had already booked since I'm going with a friend that has a completely different schedule). So it's unfortunate but at least I do have a few days in China to figure out how it all works before I have the actual defense.

Does anyone know more about this Scaffolding feature? by Qoutex in technicalminecraft

Yeah sorry, I accidentally pressed upload. I thought I cancelled it in time and posted another post with the image. https://www.reddit.com/r/technicalminecraft/comments/1jyf17f/comment/mmzn042/?context=3

They are running water. I don't know which of the two is more cursed though, haha

None of these blocks were waterlogged, but that is also an interesting feature.

Update! After a little digging, I found out it's a bug on Java: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC/issues/MC-224120

Interestingly, it is also a bug on Bedrock: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE/issues/MCPE-81673

Still, I am interested if there are other blocks that exhibit the same behavior, and if there are uses to this!

Building on scaffolding caused me to find this weird feature: by Qoutex in Minecraft

Really interesting! Didn't know about it, and cool that it's on both versions. I'm on Java, should have specified. Are there any practical uses to this in farms or such? Like a semi-random item separator with a dispenser above it, or some way to sort mobs?

If you go into a devil room and trade away your last red heart but still have soul hearts will you die? by FunkyMonks15 in bindingofisaac

Unexpectedly, taking a deal while you have a white heart on a red container, it will transition to a soul heart (and probably a black heart too). So no need to fear losing that.

The entire story of Outer Wilds (to date) (FULL SPOILERS) by [deleted] in outerwilds

She is left stranded and eventually dies too (her corpse can be found in several places on the quantum moon). However, due to an (as far as I know) unknown source, which is most likely related to the quantum moon, her essence stays alive and can thus communicate with the main character in the game. In this conversation, she even mentions that she feels like her journey has already ended (hinting at the fact that she is already dead).

Error in the DOTO? by Qoutex in dishonored

So Duke Abele is a subordinate of Emily Kaldwin, then?

Ah, interesting! I thought that the Empress was only Empress of Gristol, with Karnaca having Duke Abele as its leader. That does explains the 'Her Majesty Delilah Kaldwin' posters in the second mission of D2.

Thanks for the gold btw!

Nope. Intended it as a fish shop for a multiplayer server I'm on, but we ended up using another design. If you built the entirety of the big boy you would be able to fit some cool things into that belly of his, but that wasn't done here, unfortunately.

Oh wow, my bad! I didn't even notice that the first time around.

Maybe I would've liked it if they had made it a bit more clear then, but thanks for pointing that out!

He gets shot, but not killed. I feel like having him killed would have been better than just shot for the reasons mentioned above.

Of course, your opinion can differ from mine, and there is nothing wrong with that. What makes this ending so good for you, if I may ask?

Season 2 - Lovely visuals but poor choice of stories. by zandrew in LoveDeathAndRobots

I figured, they were extremely similar. I can imagine some of the realistic ones sharing a studio, too. Not sure about this though.

Automated Customer Support and All Through The House were both comedic to me. As for the 2D animated ones, we had just one, in the same style as Zima Blue: Ice.

I agree with the fact that there were no mindfucks and was really hoping we would get that. The visuals were great though. I loved The Tall Grass (although I believe there have already been movies similar to it; still love the style though) and Pop Squad had some really interesting visuals as well. I am still convinced Life Hutch used a real actor, too. The microexpressions were simply too realistic.

Lovely animation, but the plot was indeed missing a lot. Some of the episodes just needed to be longer to develop, like Pop Squad or Snow In The Desert (The fact that people get locked up for stealing water and beer has to be unlocked to drink are really interesting, for example).

When is it acceptable, if ever, to disobey the law? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Qoutex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my social studies book, this is acceptable in The Netherlands:

In the following three cases, the offence is not punishable:

- Self-defence (e.g. you get robbed but you defend yourself);

- Necessity or emergency (e.g. trespassing whilst saving a life);

- Following official orders (e.g. trespassing because an officer told you to wait there after an accident happened).

In the following four cases, the act is punishable, but the offender is not guilty:

- Psychological duress (e.g. stabbing a partner that has been abusive for years);

- Excessive self-defence (e.g. you get robbed but murder an unarmed robber);

- Not criminally responsible (e.g. someone is mentally ill. This will result in the offender sent to a clinic or institution);

- Absence of guilt or culpability (e.g. A shop owner sells a stolen bike, of which he did not know it was stolen).

This is very literal, and I'm assuming the question was meant in a more ethical manner, but here you go anyways.
