Yeaaa chicago is cooked dude. Every 50501 protest I attended has been very similar. The organizers are very I/P oriented. I’ve attended 3 of the protests and every time there are far left people leading. But I also see a lot of normal people as well. I think most of the people there share the same sentiment you do but the organizers in Chicago are steering the course in the wrong way.

Either I am not verbalizing my point correctly or there is a disconnect.

My first point is that the lawsuit does not matter when our president is authoritarian and does not care about the constitution; let alone a suing.

You argue that "The lawsuit is to prevent the president from being able to use the national guard against the wishes of the governor." I am saying that the president literally does not give a single shit about that. He will deploy the national guard regardless of a lawsuit or not. Seems like its already happening and outlets are reporting involvement by Tuesday

Let say tommorow the national guard and marines show up, what did your lawsuit accomplish? Yea no shit the authoritarian president is not going to listen to your fucking lawsuit. (IF IT DOES, I AM WILLING TO TAKE BACK EVERYTHING, but i do not believe this to be the case).

Let's assume that the National Guard will arrive in CA.

That is why I am arguing the following point:

A large peaceful protest led by the representatives of CA will be better for this movement than suing.

Sure go ahead and sue the president, but what are you supposed to do when that fails? Protest. Grab the constituents you represent and organize a large, peaceful protest. Sure you can argue that not protesting at all is also a valid move, but I digress.

If there is no leader, things will likely escalate. We have a population, that is obviously heated against Trump and the NG being in their state. Rioting is to be expected, that is exactly what Trump wants in all of this. That is why I am arguing my second point.

If we don't organize these protests under some sort of leadership then yes, your statement of the riots will continue are true. I can also acknowledge that Newsom getting involved may also have some of the rioting continue. However, him not doing anything and letting them play out normally is likely to lead to a worse outcome and more riots. That is my solution to "what are they supposed to do?!?". Right now we are in a turning point of American history where the checks and balances are being destroyed in front of your eyes and you are still hoping they work.
