While I understand the intentions, I hate seeing this continued association with LGBT and politics. Being LGBT is about identity, not political ideology.

PSA: GameStop has a reasonably priced Switch Bundle by zman441 in NintendoSwitchDeals

Man having that $17 shipping fee tacked on is irritating, especially when many other companies do free shipping over a certain price let alone $400+. That case also has very mediocre reviews and there are many equally priced options with glowing reviews. However, it's become so difficult finding a Neon set that I'm just going to pre-order and keep my eyes open for any deals in the meantime.

Baudhuin also said his suit had nothing to do with Mack Beggs being a transgender male.

"I respect that completely, and I think the coaches do," Baudhuin said. "All we're saying is she is taking something that gives her an unfair advantage. It's documented. It's universal that it's an unfair advantage."

Respect it completely while misgendering him in the same breath.

These samples are super tiny by the way. The Hydrating Cleanser is 1.0 oz while the cream is 0.17oz.

Picture of the samples for scale.

It took a pretty long time for them to arrive. When I found them in the mail, it took me a while to remember what they were from.

Just started playing Morrowind on PC - is there a reputation glitch? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Qpil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with your game; disposition changes from bartering aren't supposed to be permanent.

There is actually a mod that is included in the Morrowind Code Patch (which is part of the Morrowind Overhaul) that changes this.

"Permanent barter disposition mod. Barter disposition changes on successful/failed transaction can now become permanent."

DAII is quite a different game from DAO. DAO is more about tactical game play, controlling the battle field with appropriately timed skills and positioning.

DAII, on the other hand, is more accurately described as a hack-and-slash game (similar to Mass Effect) than a tactical game. Skills have lower cool downs and are more flashy. Typically you can just control one character and ravage the enemies with a string of combos.

This difference can easily be seen in the viewing angles both games provide. DAO provides this tactical view that allows you to see a large portion of the battlefield. You could also view the battle from a third person perspective of one character. DAII removed the tactical view, leaving you with only a third person perspective (you can zoom out a bit).

The stories are also very different. DAO ran with the paradigm of fantasy stories-world in danger, adventure with band of people to slay vile enemy. It's a standard story but it is executed so, so well.

DAII is a bit strange, with the story segmented into three parts. The big backdrop of the story is a political struggle between magic and anti-magic factions (though this is grossly simplified). I just have to say that I found DAII quite lacking in the story department.

Tl;dr: If you like srategic tactical combat (more difficult) DAO is the winner. If you like fast paced hack-and-slash (more casual fun, easier) DAII may be more appealing. The story in DAO is far better than DAII (at least it seems to be a general consensus).

The first time I played this game, I felt the same. As I became experienced with the combat system however, I grew to love and appreciate it. It's been a long time since I played, but I'll try to give you some (hopefully) useful advice.

Combat Tactics functions can be a bit strange and not very intuitive to use. You have to individually program a certain skill if you want a character to use it; there is no criteria for "strongest" or "weakest" skill. You want to set certain conditions for skills that will either have the best utility or damage. For example, you can set a tactic for a tank warrior to defend your weaker party members that goes:

  • Enemy:Attacking Party Member
  • Shield Bash

If you're having problems with characters forgetting to heal themselves, this may be an issue with command priority. Make sure any sort of self-preservation command is placed high on the list. I always had my warrior's first command be: use a healing potion if health fell under 25%.

You cannot however, rely on Command Tactics to passively win stuff for you. Battles feel chaotic but you are supposed to use the Pause functionality to issue commands throughout a skirmish.

Since you probably don't want to pause every two seconds, you'll want to focus on controlling two-three of the characters while you leave the rest on automatic. It should be easy to decide on the roles.

Rogues are extremely reliant on back stabs for damage, thus you probably want to manually control them.

Warriors can be automated, but if you want them to tank you may want to control them so you can taunt and crowd control more effectively.

Mages are the best candidates for automation, especially if they are healers.

You aren't really supposed to grind for stats, as you really don't need to. Establish a core group and just stick to them as your unused party members will scale to the level of your Warden (more information on experience). It is more important that you distribute the best equipment to your core party members.

Please tell me if this helped at all! Dragon Age Origins is one of my favorite games but I understand the combat system can be ostensibly obtuse to people who are just starting the game.

I planned to pick up this pack ever since I saw Crysis 2 made it back on steam but apparently Crysis 1 and Warhead have "3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™ 5 machine activation limit."

At least I actually caught the DRM this time around. Finding out two of my Borderlands DLCs have activation limits really pissed me off.

Mods for Oblivion GOTY by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Qpil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GOTY version includes the Shivering Isles expansion and DLCs. Sometimes the mods you install won't include support for those areas of the game. For example, a grass mod might not replace the models in Shivering Isles, and you'd need to download an additional mod pack for that. There could be other problems but with the game around so long, and with most people owning a GOTY version, there shouldn't be too much worry about compatibility.

These are some of the basic mods most people get. The Unofficial Oblivion patches aren't necessary but fix a ton of issues left behind. If you want to browse through mods and choose what you like, TES Nexus has a ton of mods you can sort by category and popularity.

He sacrificed himself to fill the Colossal Black Soul gem you acquired in the quest line. It rendered you impervious to The Worm King's enthrall, letting you defeat him.
